Sorry to split hairs, but... It could be said that the false sense of self, comprised of the sum total of incorrect identifications operating in us, exists until we become conscious of it. Of course it is my experience that each incorrect identification dissolves as we become aware of its falseness....

I thought that when you could say: "YES, that is the ego, i see you now apart from me and I realise that I'm the awareness that is catching you" everything was allright. For me this is totally correct. Do not create an entity with the name Ego, bestow it with consciousness of its own... Note Joel s...
