I really enjoyed that Michael, thanks, especially the pictures of him with the dog and with Kim. You picked good quotes.

My favorite is "nothing exists outside the present moment."

That may have been the one realization that truly opened the door for me. How can you argue with that?

It was the thought that there was a problem in my life, that my life wasn't good enough the way it was. I relate to this so much. I can't even think of one problem in my life. If something appears as a problem, once I glance at it, it is seen as insignificant. Some action is necessary sometimes, bu...

Wonderful description Kiki. Here is some more: The odd thing about 'spiritual seeker' characters, the ones that talk about wanting to wake up, is that while they are saying that they are simultaneously, and completely realizing it, spending most of their time and energy actively doing whatever they ...

David Carse

He claims to not be a teacher. He wrote Perfect Brilliant Stillness. I'm reading right now. Quite good. Here are some excerpts: Look, it's all so incredibly simple. There is no one here. This is not a figure of speech. I mean there is truly no one here, no person, no individual speaking to you. You ...

Kiki's post here got me thinking, do you really want to live in a world where there is no duality? No challenges, no sex, no eating, no exchange of matter or ideas of any kind? What would you do in such a world? Simply sit around feeling blandly peaceful all day. .. Duality is part of the Oneness. ...

If any of you have never heard him speak, this would be a good way to actually hear instead of just read his messages. Yes and I highly recommend any lecture of his on DVD where he is speaking in front of an audience. There is no script, no book to read from, and the presence which is naturally in ...

This is what Ramana Maharshi did. He advised people depending upon where they were. He knew that most wouldn't "get" the "not having to do anything" approach even though it is true, so he would tell some people to do this or that particular thing. For those who were "ripe" those sort of practices w...

Why even label it as "enlightenment"? That word seems to be a source of trepidation. Instead, let me ask you this: Since you are already "here" whether you are "enlightened" or not, are you willing to be here consciously? Just be here; just be here; just be here. Anything to fear about that? Wow. A...

There is a vast difference between being the depression, anxiety, etc and observing it as something within you, as something by which you have erroneously defined yourself.
That's worth repeating. Thanks Eseward.

Everyone seems to have their roles in life, but I don't have a clue what I am to do with myself. I have no talents or any particular skill.....all I mainly do is 'go with the flow' while seeking truth. I just wonder that if it's true one is to not need to pursue any outer things if they 'discover t...

Do you think my pain body is realising it's being watched and then causing lots of trouble? My friend and I laughingly refer to the game of everyday life as "feed my painbody." You get the sensation that people are literally walking around waiting for something to react against, to be right about, ...

what a joke we play on ourselves. So, enjoy your practice and then laugh at yourself when the joke is revealed.

practice, practice, practice... I certainly practiced...diligently. I made becoming present my number one priority. And it worked. However, now that presence has come in, I realize that the only reason the practice was necessary is because I had a whole bunch of beliefs lodged in my head about how ...
