Re: Presence and Resumes

Regarding Ramana, it is a little different.. Fortunately, for many people awakening and embodiment doesn't happen at the same time and during this interval the body prepares itself to face the embodiment... But when they do happen at the same time, the body experiences tremendous shock.. In fact, m...

Re: Does Oprah really "get" Tolle?

As Kiki and others have pointed out, Oprah has done a lot on the level of form. Recently, there has been a bit too much "O" for me. I think Oprah gets the very first layer of Tolle's teachings, but as we all know they go so much deeper. I read PON five years ago and everytime I open it I find someth...

Re: Free will is an illusion?

It is clear in the unconscious mind there is no free will--decisions are dependent on conditioning. Is there free will in awareness? The decision of come out of the unconscious mind--is that free will? Or is that too determined by conditioning and existing conditions? I don't know if there is free ...

Re: There are no objects.

3. When it is 'seen' that ALL there is, is Reality / Oneness / wide Awakeness... then the world is once again embraced... the appearance is free to express as all the 'stuff of ordinary life'.... and Oneness/nonduality is not compromised in the slightest. At this stage(for lack of a better word) li...

Re: Fear of death

Hi Peaceman,

Thanks for the clairifying what you meant. I do not see knowing your True nature as Emptiness and the experience of form to be mutually exclusive. In my experience, the human experience is much richer and deeper when you know yourself as the emptiness that it arises in.

Re: Fear of death

Hi everybody, sorry for the unclairity. I was speaking in absolute terms. Since our True nature is unborn and prior to anything that arises, we cannot "experience" our death.

Re: Fear of death

You can never experience your own death. You can experience thoughts about death and that is what most people fear. See that thoughts are just thoughts, nothing to fear.

Re: Creative Visualization question

I have found what Eckhart states to be true: Both poverty and abundance are inner states. If you come from lack, no matter what you have you will always feel the need for more. How many wealthy people do you know stop at a million dollars, many of them keep going because they feel it is not enough y...

Re: Creative Visualization question

Hi Nutrition, Find out who you are. Once you really "know" your true identity you will come to realize that there is no lack. It is your ego that wants to control the situation, not the Real you. YOU are everything, so how can you possibly lack anything? I agree with ercit when he says that you attr...

If your finger is on a hot stove plate, you remove it quickly. If you're enlightened, you remove it quickly. You do not say every moment is fresh and you will hold no preconceptions about getting burned. True, but removing your finger from a hot stove is responding to the danger that you are in, no...

karmarider did not say call 911. He said "do the sensible thing." Perhaps that would be to not hold the belief that there would be an attack True, perhaps KR can explain what he meant by "sensible". My mind judged what he meant by it and automatically produced a response based upon that. I think th...

Re: Racism

You have to protect yourself and ones you have agreements with. If your car breaks down in a dangerous neighborhood, do the sensible thing. It isn't about black and white; the people there are dangerous not because they more pigment, but because this is the way their egos react to the circumstances...

Re: Tiredness Affects Presence

Tiredness can also be the ego's way of not wanting to be with what is. When I used to meditate, I would often fall asleep no matter how well I had slept the night before. I later discovered that this was the ego's subtle way of increasing resistance because I would often feel disappointed or angry t...
