Re: Some Tough Questions

I know people who experienced samadhi on heroine and LSD but had to go to mental hospital for few weeks or years, but as the name sugge...

Re: transended ultimately

I believe he is saying that mind can never portray the power of Spirit and thus it can only be used as a pointer and as such has to be transcended. The nature of mind is to separate, divide, focus which is duallity, nature of spirit is Oneness.

Re: Ego is neccessary?

Re: Doing

"ibetan Buddhists believe that saying the mantra (prayer), Om Mani Padme Hum , out loud or silently to oneself, invokes the powerful benevolent attention and blessings of Chenrezig, the embodiment of compassion. Viewing the written form of the mantra is said to have the same effect -- it is often ca...

Re: Doing

Self preservation of illusion is what it is. I think one of the worst motivations is doing something for self image enhancment, when you wish to view yourself as more intellectual, beautiful etc. One is often unaware of the real motivation that runs the show in the backstage of Ego, for example some...

Re: Doing

We all want abundance and we all struggle for it, even the saints. If you want me to admit you are better person then rest of us who didnt go to Africa you wont see that. :) If one does a good deed its ok but that does not make him a better person or special, if it does its ego in action. There are ...

Re: End Depression Now

Hi Onceler, thanx for the great read man, i find it same with reincarnation which makes identification with the body we have even more illogical and kind of ridicolous if you have in mind how already ridicolous is limited defragmentation and judgment of our personallity through thousand of unreliabl...

Re: Doing

Re: Doing

Being selfless is separation, same as being selfish. When you do whats best for the universe that does not mean you are always ignoring your own needs you are just living in harmony with universe, hence the saying to help others help yourself first, so being selfish is actually not being selfish, it...

Re: End Depression Now

It depends how deep you go into beliefs and to what extent we allow doubt to travel, memory is considered a proof generally, but if you read any basic book on philosophy you realize with reason that it can not be proven that even your memory is for sure it also may be a fairy tale. This is why a gre...

Re: Doing

It is a matter of motivation and many kinds of motivations exist not only category like self image enhancment, for example when you engage in conversations you do not observe what people think of "you" but you can still feel compelled to tell a hilarious joke, a great movie like story, or a benefici...

Re: Perfection?

As long as one identifies with his-her post its an identity, and obviously we all do it to a degree as attachment to sweet fruits is equally challenging as attachment to sour fruits, nobody is perfectly enlightened here.

Re: This too shall pass.

Perhaps not. And, perhaps there would have been "nothing wrong" with your mother throwing you into a trashcan, five minutes after you were born. If all things are transitory, then love and hate are mere "mindstuff." Life and death have no more consequence than gross illusion. Platonic ideals are em...
