Re: Practicing No-Mind in a Mind-dominant everyday life?

1) In my experience there is definitely a state of "working samadi" that you can get into where there in no mental chatter, it seems like no-mind, but let's just call it a state "no vocal thought" -In this state you can still opperate more-or-less normally without the accompanying commentary of the ...

Re: Spiritual Center in India

Firstly, if I may suggest: you should bare strongly in mind that getting a visa to "live in India" is not an easy thing to do. You have to have a plan first: for example say that you are researching a Masters Degree or something like that. That having been said, two good options for spiritual center...

Re: Rapper Jay Z holding Tolle's ANE; hanging w/ Oprah

Well the main reason it does give you happiness. But not for long. You actually do become happy I encountered an interesting teaching recently: If it was the possession itself which brought happiness, the happiness would last for as long as you possessed the possession, but as you point out Righteo...

Re: Lets talk about the movie Waking Life.

the lights were off however I could see everything. Is that was your referring to or are you just playing with words? Sorry if it sounds naive but I'm still dealing with how to incorporate "awakening" with the 'dream". I was referring to the scene in the movie where the friend mentions to the main ...

Re: Lets talk about the movie Waking Life.

Interesting that you'd post this becuase I just watched "Waking Life" a few weeks ago. I had been wondering how it would strike me, because when I saw it in the days before I encountered ET or hands-on spirituality "Waking Life" had a huge impact. It blew my proverbial mind. Honestly though, when I ...

Re: So the Now is deeper than the content that arises?

You said two things seperately in your post: "So the space is the now" and 'its about just being the space.." Seperately both those statements are accurate, but if you look at those two ideas as one, you'll be in a place to realize something very much deeper than that content which is arising. If as...

Re: Warrior Mind Training

After awakening, the thought has occasionally crossed my mind that if I was in a battle, the stillness would put me in a position where I'd be astonishingly dangerous. I work as a prison guard and I have been through some heavy duty bloodbaths at work and it's really quite amazing to be totally stil...

Re: Whats ENLIGHTMENT truly Mean?

Your understanding seems pretty solid to me, the "no self" element will probably preset itself also, but don't take my word for it. There's somthing inside you that will tell you if you are right or worng about what you are saying, always trust that. Earliy on, because he was so skilled spiritually,...

Re: Subjective reality

I have to admit that I have never heard of these names before. But knowing that the reality that we're living in is simply an illusion that WE created stopped my mind for a while. That speaks much louder than anything I can say. .. I guess you and I are cut from the same cloth. I had the same exper...

The Identity of Relative and Absolute

I know just what you are saying mistral . It's both astonishing and liberating to encounter something which is too big to fit in our brains yet still so available in our direct experience. Once the initial shift in consciousness takes place it's sort of like those "Magic Eye" posters we had back in ...

Re: Subjective reality

I would love to know what Eckhart thinks of subjective reality? I suspect he'd probably think that someone is re-packaging the ideas of Asanga , Vasubandhu , Xuanzang , Sri Siddharameshwar Maharaj , and Bishop Berkeley for the modern audience. Not that there is anything wrong with that. :D
