Re: Symptoms of Awakening - ring true?

I think I've always been on this path towards awakening, but it was in Peru that in many ways, despite all the negativity I had in me, that I began to bloom It is often darkest just before the dawn, your blossoming and persistence are interdependent, during the initial "opening" phase this is espec...

Re: Symptoms of Awakening - ring true?

Not sure about the symptoms that the website mentions, but we (myself and a few others on the forum) have noticed a few things that people seem to do after awakening When present, your body feels physically warmer For some reason you want to be around and possibly hug trees This may be to do with be...

Re: psychic power and 'awakening'

Fair enough, guess I should get a copy of the Bhagavata Purana in that case... I think Nick Sutton from OCHS was doing an online course for it a few months back

Though I doubt gaining mystical powers was on the syllabus

Re: Non-duality

Awesome! Thankyou very much. Realised people feel it that way? No worries Realised people are all different, even the spiritual "masters" have very different personalities but they are all aware that they are not isolated from the whole It's like everyone is a drop of water and every drop thinks th...

Re: Violent Movies/Games

You say this all in a past tense. Is this not true anymore? No, the changes lasted a few months and then I slowly reverted back to my former state Adyashanti describes it as "I got it, I lost it" or "Non-abiding awakening" in the "End of your world": " The "I got, I lost it" phenomenon is the strug...

Re: How much emphasis does Eckhart Tolle put on dreams?

Hi James I've not heard of Tolle ever talking about dreams in any real depth but I have interpreted a LOT of dreams on yahoo answers before and one of them most common ones is "I had a dream about flirting/kissing/having sex with so-and-so, what does it mean?" The meaning with dreams like this is pr...

Re: psychic power and 'awakening'

Indeed, I've read about these Siddhis and Adyashanti talks about "Spiritual Cities" but haven't met anyone who can demonstrate such abilities Of the ones on the wikipedia page , these are the ones I'd most like to have: aparājayah: Remaining unconquered by others manaḥ-javah: Moving the body whereve...

Re: Violent Movies/Games

This is an interesting topic. I cannot watch gratuitous violence in horror movies or playing video games. I find it extremely disturbing, frightening and sickening. I cannot watch someone or something else suffer so horribly for entertainment. I wonder if it is a generation thing or a male/female t...

Re: Non-duality

When I read that the world is in us, what does that mean. It depends on the context it was said in, it could mean: What you see "out there" in the world is largely determined by your own internal perceptions It could also mean that reality/consciousness is holographic, and like a hologram, even a s...

There are many cultures around the world that have members who have not forgotten and the skills are out in the open, unquestioned.
Care to name a few? Sounds like a skill worth rediscovering

Re: A Constant Restlessness

The fear of emotional pain can often drive the tendency to self seek through imagery grounded in separation. Put another way, repressed emotional energy gets projected through the desire creating an emotional pull to some future moment where the separate self will find wholeness, which of course wi...

Re: Non-duality

This is my own opinion so it might be slightly off: It's the philosophy that rather than things being inherently good or bad, they just are and that it is only by our judgement that things become labelled as good or bad Also whilst things may appear to be distinct and separate, they are in fact all ...

Re: I need to unawaken

What do you people do with your lives anyway? Do you have careers? Are you self-employed? Is it even possible to be in this tedious, trite, mindnumbing state while pursueing higher education????? Am I the only one here???? It seems as though you have stripped away the old identity but not realised ...
