Re: The Knower is in the brain

we can only speculate from our current experience. So, let's speculate I don't want to speculate! Speculation is for cowards! Come an! Give me something solid! This is childs play, like when you were young and fantasized about being Batman or something like that. If not, if you cannot make any clai...

Re: The Knower is in the brain

Is the knower generated by your brain the only one, or do I have one also? I don't know. If we both have them are they the same or seperate? You are asking an if-scenario to a question I cannot answer. In what way do they differ, and in what way are they the same? Again, speculative question that a...

Re: The Knower is in the brain

when the brain-generated-knower ceases, then what? Since I am that brain-generated-knower, and this still haven't ceased, how could I possibly answer this? Also, how can it ever be answered, since an answer is dependent on the very thing that ceases? Before the brain-generated-knower is born then w...

The knower is not known directly though, is it? It only knows itself indirectly through what is known.

Re: The Knower is in the brain

The claim - "The knower of objects is a function generated by the brain ".... is a concept or belief . A concept or belief that cannot be verified by direct seeing is always subject to attack by a counter-concept or belief. It is a concept, yes. But so is the claim "You are not an object. You are t...

The Knower is in the brain

Okay, so I'm going to play the devils advocate here for a while and I hope some people will play along. I want you to really give all you got! :) So, we've heard it being spoken a lot of times. "You are not this body", "you are not these thoughts" and "is it known to you? then it can not be you" etc...

Why would we search for enlightenment, when according to you, enlightenment offers nothing but nothingness? First, I did not say that enlightenment offers nothing but nothingness. Second, are you expecting enlightenment to be something to add to yourself? Something that will make you whole? "Beauti...

If everything was equally beautiful, then nothing would be ugly, and "beautiful" would lose it's meaning.

Everything is neither beautiful or ugly. It just is.
