Re: Head pressure and clenched teeth

I know what you mean, I get head pressure too, mainly at work. I am aware of it, but have a hard time observing it. I saw Tolle talk in NY and he spent time with the phrase "can I be the space for this?" He was talking particularily about work situations. Work is the hardest place for me to be prese...

Adya Interview (Sun Magazine)

The Sun magazine inteviewed Adyashanti in its December issue. It was a good interview, very thorough. I don't have a link to the interview itself, as the December issue is not posted on line yet. Here is the link to the Sun magazine; a quirky political/spiritual/literary magazine I would encourage a...

Re: Why Post

I have had the experience of deep internal listening and, yes, in that moment there is no need. In this moment, however, I crave a "community" of listening and presence. That's just the way it is for me now. Also a posting community of honesty and vulnerability. For example, I have deep respect for ...

Re: Why Post

In thinking through this issue about writing, posting, and journaling....we are really talking about several different formats. I am glad to hear the positive feedback on journaling and need to give it a try. I can see how it would help solidify experiences and thoughts. As far as posting, I suspect...

Re: Why Post

I actually posted a reply to the Adyashanti thread that may be germaine to both this thread and posting on a public forum. I made a connection to this quote anyway: "When I was sitting with my teacher, Arvis, we’d all go into the kitchen after the meditation and dharma talk and have some fruit and t...

Re: Interview with Stephen Bodian

Webwanderer,

Your post to me about this forum being a public journal to share and grow seems congruent with Adya's point about making the private moments of ones path public, thereby promoting personal growth (presence) through communal sharing.

Re: Hello

Yes, silence. I am too prone to verbal cognitions and suspect writing may trigger them further, not put them to rest...for me, maybe, more silence then writing. On the other hand, here I am writing during a time I usually structure to be silent...

Thank-you,

Re: Cognitive De-Structuring, De-Framing, Deconstructing

I like what you are saying, Billy. I too have mulled over the relationship between cognitive theory and with authors like Tolle. I have not read Katie, but feel I must. Perhaps awareness of thinking, just that, is the very first step...I work with learning disabled teens and use a very basic form of...

Re: Hello

That's a good idea. Interesting. In my personal experience I associate journaling to times of pathos and angst. I haven't thought to chronicle emerging presence and clarity. It seems antithetical to the process somehow, but I haven't given it much thought. It seems this board acts as journaling for ...

Why Post

Moderator note: This topic was split from introductions. I actually tried to join the forum several times, but got kicked off somehow--I have written several brilliant posts in my head, but I forgot them...so guess I just decided to "observe" Personal informaton: My border collie is my spiritual te...
