Re: A Message From Shore to Ship

Interesting perspective, jugu. Maybe the ego needs to be the boss until we are about 30 Yes, even better, until 40. I suggest that an age limit should be put on this site haha. But yeah, your age has a huge factor in how much you enjoy this enlightenment thing. I can go into detail about this later.

Re: A Serious Flaw

People have trouble just being present because they are not satisfied with the present You can't be satisfied with the present. Just try it right now. Stop, and don't you change anything. Be completely one with the moment, wanting nothing else but to just sit there and stay... Are you still reading...

Re: A Serious Flaw

Can you tell us more about your original motivation for practicing "being present"? Were you happy about your life then? It seems to me that you felt worse about your life after you practiced "being present" according to your best understanding. About me: I read the PON when I was 16. I didn't quit...

A Serious Flaw

If all peace and satisfaction is found when focus is on the monent, then why would people have so much trouble just being present and enjoying all this boundless satisfaction and goodness? Wouldn't that be the easiest thing to do if this was true?

Re: A Message From Shore to Ship

I still agree with my statement though. What you have described above is very much a victim attitude. Yeah, I do feel like I got duped a little. But the people who helped me get here didn't have any wrong intentions, they just were seriously misled and had no idea what they were talking about. My p...

Re: A Message From Shore to Ship

If you are considering suicide and are so upset with life, get help now. You mentioned a therapist. Get evaluated for depression. Forget non-dual teaching, it is not worth it right now. Hey man, thanks for the concern but It's really not like that. Therapists are for people who have problems, and I...

Re: A Message From Shore to Ship

I would have thought with practise you can change you state to being mostly out of the now, and the world of thought pretty much the same as most people lean to be in the now Let it be clear that what we're really talking about is truth, not nirvana, not "presence" nor the now. It's all about truth...

Re: "Responsibility"

Ego feeds from three energy sources: bodily, emotionally, and mentally. Bodily sensing is not thoughts, neither is fluctuation of emotional states. Not identifying with thoughts is a technique for stopping the feed-back effect between mind and emotion. Ego uses this feed-back effect to suck more en...

Re: A Message From Shore to Ship

is there not also risk in wasting the opportunities that life offers?WW This isn't an opportunity ww. This is the end of opportunities. No more things to look forward to. It's not creation or development or evolution or anything "better". This is you, turning in your gloves, hoping that life, or re...

Re: A Message From Shore to Ship

In my opinion, the disturbance described in the OP is primarily an issue of attitude. Wrong. Given the fact that I was suckered into this misleading pack of lies, non-duality, giving my whole self to it in hope of getting something better in return only to be left with absolutely nothing, I'd say m...

Re: great wisdom

Great wisdom is only the product of great ignorance. Once you've lived the truth, your no longer have wisdom. So if your in this for wisdom, you should develop a life philosophy.

Re: What forms of meditation do you practice?

Sorry, I misread the post. The technique I used to use was to listen to guided meditation tracks... Big waste of time. If I had to choose noe, I'd go with the dodgeball technique. Ever see I Heart Huckabees? Smack yourself in the face with a dodgeball, works great... Perfect bliss everytime!

Re: What forms of meditation do you practice?

Hey Charles, with forms of meditation, you should keep in mind that they all aim to do the same thing: quiet the mind. When you try to follow someone else's techniques, it's always with effort and it's usually pretty awkward. My suggestion is that you research a bunch of techniques and then make a t...
