Re: Identification

Well, that confuses me. It makes it sound like people believe they are cars or houses or toys. I don't understand most of this. You said in early childhood, we will look for boundaries...why? And how does it work? And sighclone, you said, "In infancy, consciousness is very diffuse and our sense of s...

Re: Identification

Thanks for the reply, sighclone. Here's something I noticed:
We get toys...they become part of us. There is an element of "I am that" to an infant playing with a toy.
Why is it that when we see something early in life like a toy, why do we believe we're apart of it?

Identification

Something I'm curious about: why is it that when we identify with something(this is mine!) that we feel pain when it is being taken away? I understand that it has to be taken away in a certain fashion so it conforms to how an object was first taken from you at a very young age, but why is it that we...

Re: I've had a problem

Well, I still get pretty angry about things, despite what you're reading. The internet doesn't say as much about a person as you'd see them in real life, but still, I'm getting over my anger better now. This is a pretty old topic, honestly. But thanks for the help, guys. I appreciate it. And interes...

Re: I've had a problem

That sounds like a good idea, but it's like I do that, already. Whenever I'm bored or if I'm in certain situations, I'll act them out like a narrative, like as if it were a movie or if it was being written out and described in a book. It seems to make some difference, but I don't know. I've read ple...

Re: I've had a problem

I think focusing on your beliefs about the doomsday prophesy, is going to make you more disconnected from reality, more fearful, and more disassociated from your feelings. Besides it seems to be getting pretty far off topic for this forum, so why don't we give it a rest for now? Honestly, I just st...

Re: Is it possible...

Hey soapbox, as for the videos i've watched, WHAT IS THE POINT ? Basically it says the media are controlling everything, that what we are made to believe is false, that everyone is selfish and that the one who knows have the power. So we live in a world with no freedom and we are totally controlled...

Re: Is it possible...

As we all agree with a global rise of consciousness, I don't see the truth in this. Why would a drastic change be the only way for the world to evolve, why so extreme ? (the belief I have is that it will just flow and that the world will gradually become a better place) I would love to see the worl...

Re: Is it possible...

SO from this starting point, how can one say truth about consciousness like "it will all happen on this day" as it is based on maths and logical facts, which find source in the mind and so have no truth ? First of all, thanks for replying to my topic and trying to dig into some stuff about 2012. Th...

Re: Is it possible...

I agree with some of the people in this topic. I believe that we're inevitably going to go back to the "source", in some form or fashion. I came from a 2012 forum, and no, we're not wackos, there are many good studies and theories about the Mayan calendar ending. Actually, the Mayan prophecy has mo...

Is it possible...

...that someday, the majority of the world will be able to enter The Now? Because it seems like it's difficult enough to enter it, even when you know about it. I'm even having trouble trying to enter it and I don't actually understand many things surrounding it. So would the majority of the world be...

Re: I've had a problem

By a simple shift in perception from the sense of "being angry" to a non-judgmental awareness of "feeling" anger within your experience of what currently is. One of them makes anger a part of your sense of self, the other a temporary condition of present experience. Only by identifying with the con...

Re: I've had a problem

"Part of your journey to the discovery of no-self may include: "But I am (soapbox)...XYZ makes me mad." Granted, XYZ creates anger, and your face gets red and words start to form in your head and mouth. But this is where the real you appears and observes and transcends. Yes, in a way, new conditioni...

Re: I've had a problem

I'm really glad I got all these comments, I appreciate the help very much and they've given me some great advice, but I'm still trying to figure out why I can't catch my anger. It's like no matter what I try to do, it evades me and it tells me what to do, what to feel, this dominating feeling. I rea...
