Re: Counselors/Social workers/Spiritual Teachers.. I need advice

we can help people in important ways stabilize their (admittedly defective) self-image so they can eventually leave it behind... I think this is an important point, not everyone can start at awareness. As someone who used to struggle with self-esteem issues, I found Toward a Psychology of Awakening...

Re: Role Playing (Please Help Guys!)?

“How are you?” seems to be overused in our society. I can sense when someone is authentically asking how I am and interested in the answer or simply saying “how are you” as a simple hi. I respond accordingly. All arises in awareness, let life be what it is, you know you are not your story, you don’t...

Re: Consciousness is All - Peter Francis Dziuban

It is interesting that I came across this thread. I just finished listening to an audio of Peter with Scott Kiloby on Scott's website http://www.kiloby.com, under kilologues. It is a great 2 part audio dialogue.

Re: Relating with Others

The statement "gotta watch that one, it can be a dangerous excuse to justify anything" is based on a false belief that there is someone there. There is no one there, but how does this fit in to personal responsibility and accountability? An example - I am responsible for paying my rent every month....

Re: Highly active pain body

Hi boogeyman, You’re not alone, many of us deal with panic attacks. I found some social or work situations could trigger fear and panic in me and cause my mind to swirl in all kinds of directions. I could instantly come up with about 10 negatives about me and/or the situation. Fear had such a grasp ...

Re: The Diamond in Your Pocket, by Gangaji

I cried I was so moved.. I just love how she says 'stop seeking' because that has been me. I did the same thing Elise when I heard her say that. I think she went on further with the question what is there when you stop. I still have movement in my life but that seeking energy has slowed down consid...

Re: Whether you do or you don't...

J. Krishnamurti was not humble enough to learn from others. He was too proud of his own understanding. The pains and aches he carried all his life were indicators that he did not learn the lessons presented in them. How do you know this? I know very little about J. Krishnamurti but how can one say ...

Re: Social situations

negative thoughts about myself and the way the person i`m talking about will think about me. What helped me when I used to have thoughts like this was silently telling myself that what others think about me was none of my business. I also remember a sentence I like in the book The Four Agreements b...

Re: Whether you do or you don't...

Hi sevenworlds, You must do a job of some kind to remain part of society, to survive. I enjoy my job but I’m not attached to it nor do I seek identity through it. Life remains whether I have a job or not but my reality right now is work, I accept that and enjoy it for what it is. When enough people ...

Re: gratitude

I feel a lot of gratitude for this forum. Me too, and Eckhart's pointers. I know words are just words but I am grateful for the words on this forum, many of them point the way. “Every now and again take a good look at something not made with hands – a mountain, a star, the turn of a stream. There w...

Re: How to differentiate between inspired action and whims?

In my experience, you just know whether you understand it or not. Life can sometimes give you a nudge. Analysis and inquiry might help but, for me, it didn’t matter how much of that I did, the knowing was persistent and clear and guiding me to where I needed to be.

I'm curious as to what is the difference between Neo-Advaita and Advaita teaching?
