Re: Stages of Growth

I simply see it as when someone awakens they simply become elighten more about what reality is. Do you not see that I say the same exact thing? To be rid of self ignorance is to be enlightened? I can be enlightened about many things so it's no big deal. Enlightenment I'm saying is different. It's t...

Re: Stages of Growth

I see what you are saying and I thought the same thing for a while now. But I see enlightenment (moving from what we are) as different than awakening.

Re: Stages of Growth

Hi Randji, I like what you had to say. It's always good to hear in different ways. This thread did help me. Writing things and reading helped hash it out a bit more. What I resonate with is: /quote] Hi Monica, It is even more simple than what BK is saying. Awakening as I have said so many times is ...

Re: Fixation

Hi Doug,
it does seem that people get all suited up for a fight on this subject of ego
You have a funny way of saying things. I love ET. I never stop going more and more into deep resting listening to him.

It's a beautiful day here!! The sunrise is amazing :D

Re: What if you've lost your "zest for life?"

No practice. That put's strain and striving for something in the future. Just sense Stillness even when one is walking or doing whatever. Sense Silence. Ask what is to allow everything to be? Sense stillness with your body. Once sensed you can always find it. It is another pointer of What we are. Onc...

Re: Fixation

What works for me is I don't own or embrace anything. That would mean there are two. me and what I'm trying to own or embrace creating a relationship. By just resting as What you are Presence/You and just noticing/allowing it will resolve. Any time these thoughts come up realize you are unconscious ...

Re: What if you've lost your "zest for life?"

Doug & Randji, would say that working at, striving, & trying, to make sense of my life & my place in this world, has been the most common theme of my existence! Just in the last couple of weeks though, have let go of that a bit. It probably started out of negative resignation, an "I give up" stance...

Re: Is there purpose?

CCBCPA wrote:So generally our purpose is to extend the periods we stay in the Now. Since most of us are just beginning to realize how to do it for short periods of time.

That's what I thought for a long time. But it's to actually realize we are the Now. To awaken to What we are.

Hi CC

We are the Now, so to realize that would be the ultimate purpose "by design" is the way I experience it.

Re: Is there purpose?

Isn't purpose mind projected future? This is tough so I wanted some input from the forum. I don't see it that way. Although the mind can generate any number of purposes in desire for future manifestation, there is a more fundamental purpose in living a physical manifestation or life would be entire...

Re: Is there purpose?

I agree with you Doug.
I thought it was a fun question. What I came to is the Ramana quote "The world is illusion. Brahman alone is real. The world is Brahman" That's such a good quote. It saves me so many times.

ET's book says awakening to your life's purpose. In this mind projected world there's purpose. Isness no purpose.

Re: Stages of Growth

Hi James, Those are the things I wanted to hit on too like what Byron Katie said because that makes sense. Why I didn't though is because if enlightenment is "Knowing" then what BK said wouldn't apply to that idea of what enlightenment is simply knowing that's it. Because once one knows they don't f...
