Re: Neo-Advaita/Pseudo Advaita and False Awakenings

Without doing what we didn't need to do, we wouldn't realize that we didn't need to do it.
What a nice phrase! Thank you, Sighclone!

Re: Is Being aware of Awareness different from living in Now?

Thank you for your words, Sighclone!
It is not my intention to criticize anyone, and especially not you - I learned a lot from your posts.
It just happens that certain phrases give me an impulse to reply.
Currently, I can't figure out where disagreement comes from when we feel "one with everything."

Re: Is Being aware of Awareness different from living in Now?

Thank you, Sighclone,

I find it puzzling that "disagreement and desire to change" take us away from unity and the present moment, and yet they are the main impulses of all life forms.

Re: What do you see?

As you wish, there are people I`ve met who would experience no pain in similar circumstances and the brick would break, not the foot. Either ways if your mind was completely present the brick would never hit your foot. I think the US army, and not only, is looking forward to find such people. Have ...

Re: What do you see?

Hello Sevenworlds,
You are very good with words.
What do you see during deep sleep?
I, for one, cannot find anything in there, and it puzzles me!

Re: What do you see?

What seems to frighten a lot of people when I say things like this is fear of losing control. We always need to know. We like to know our surroundings and be able to label what is going on around us. If we don't recognise wife as 'wife', friend as 'friend', what will be there? What an empty existen...

Re: What do you see?

Even what we see right in front of us is still constructed by our brain from fragments. Even when we read a book or text on the computer screen, our eyes scan and send bits of information to the brain which then puts everything together. What we actually see is very little, but better than nothing. ...

Re: What are Permanent?

People who wake up can refer back to a time when the feeling of being aware was not present. Also, for many people, awakening comes gradually - they slip in and out of bliss.
So, I would say, the witness of all these states is "what is permanent" ...

Re: Reality, Understanding and Realization

Thank you James and Tony. The song is beautiful!
Indeed, having "one" answer does not solve the question - probably because there are countless valid answers.
Nevertheless, I find that there is a lively natural tendency to keep asking "why" ...

Re: Reality, Understanding and Realization

James has posted this in another thread: If you ask most people why they do what they do, they would likely answer "I don't know", or that "it just seems like the right thing to do". I think it fits within the topic here. I'm wondering, what would be the truth about "Why do we do what we do?" That w...
