Re: The Egoic backlash

Couldn't agree more with all of you. My experience in the last 30 years of my life has been one on-going tug-a-war with the ego (thinking self). It is the moments of peace that I was able to see myself in a different dimension, like an out of body experience, like here I am watching me. Just like Ki...

Re: Not sure what to think re: very high prices for Tolle events

I stay on the topic because it is an active one but I read it with disinterest. The reason why I wrote what I wrote is because it generates too much viewpoints , about teachers. How it goes may have changed along the way but it is still pretty much the same. It reminds me of what I tend to do when I...

Re: Not sure what to think re: very high prices for Tolle events

Lucy, I believe the root is still the same. Discussion on teachers, concepts, books leading to ET. I am simple minded, cannot differentiate. If you have moved to a different topic, shouldn't the subject be different? Zen mind, beginners mind?

Re: Reading with Disinterest

To you who responded, I give thanks. It is simple things like this and solitude that keeps me going. No inferences by people. I won't deny that I am affected by people, their views and the energy they emit. More so the energy. I have become so spacious that the slightest disturbance causes a ripple ...

I propose we quit this topic as it seems never ending. To each his own?

Re: Reading with Disinterest

Quietude and solitude - at peace with the self. I guess some effects from depression is that one appreciates the quiet alONEness and not having to spend too much time wearing masks with too many people in situations (i.e., at work). I also find that I don't want to get into situations where one argu...

Reading with Disinterest

When I first found this forum, I was so excited and participating in topics regularly. Then I went into yet another bout of depression. Now I read the forum with disinterest. I find reading long passages tedious. I like the short stuff. I wanted to share all my experiences earlier, found that there ...

Re: My Spiritual Experience so far

It is good to see how moonmissy is able to laugh and enjoy life to the fullest now. There was more to my life than what I mentioned in my first entry but I do not want to go into it right now. There is just too much to the story. But my childhood and experiences made me who I became (conditioning!)....

Re: What practices do you use?

Apart from meditation, gardening, worming and fishing, I do slow walks in the park. Of course, I sit in the patio looking at the fish swimming in the aquarium, the trees and plants in the garden. I love to watch the tree outside the window before and after the rain when the wind blows and birds fly ...

Re: Movies Concerning Awakening

Did anyone mention :- 1. Horton Hears A Who - believing in oneself, unlike the snooty Kangaroo who says "If you can't see, hear or feel it, then it does not exist." 2. The Lion King - believing in oneself. Puumba the warthog is so wise!!!! 3. August Rush - listening to the sound of silence, music is...

Re: Why does smoking marijuana open up our senses so fully?

That's what hallucinating drugs do to people who smoke pot. Drug addicts go high, then they sleep all the time - bad hangover. Let's not do drugs. It is the false way to spiritual growth

Don't think the Catholic Church will invite him over for talks on spirituality. Look at how they treated Anthony de Mello, S.J. and de Mello was a jesuit priest! If there are any rich individuals who would like to host him in Malaysia for a retreat, I would be there to listen to him and feel his ema...

Re: Enlightened people don't sneeze...

I find that it works for anything only if there is heightened awareness. However, when I get lost in the world, the pain sticks like you have been knocked over by a train. The problem for me is staying aware and remembering to be present when there is pain.
