Re: A course in miracles

I am convinced ACIM is what opened me to nonduality. I had no idea of that at the time I began reading it. After reading ACIM it was rather synchronistic how nondual books started to interest me. I never would have understood them if I hadn't read the Course first.

Border Collie wrote:Mozart, yes by all means. And Bach (for instance try the Goldberg Variations, the Cello Sonatas and the Well Tempered Clavier). But when I really need help with calming, its Deuter.
Deuter's music is excellenet. I listen to it quite a bit.

Re: Music of "the other side"?

I've been listening to a lot of beautiful music for about 30 years now and none has affected me like this one chant....

Re: I Never Really Loved Him & I'm OK With That

It takes a while to learn how to not be codependent. Read books by Melody Beattie so you can learn the signs so you won't continue to repeat the behaviors or you will just draw another codependent relationship to you again. I wouldn't be concerned for now about finding true love. Get yourself emotio...

RM: I hope whereever it is you go, you will seek out social services for your kids. They will need counseling. I grew up in an alcoholic home, married an alcoholic and have a drug addicted alcoholic son. Trust me, Al-Anon has been a life saver for me. I got the support that I needed and I found a lo...

Re: I did not come to bring peace, but a sword - please help

Old Dog, I have experienced this very thing. I am almost 58 and I married at age 20. I reached a point in my life where solitude was a must. I thought I would die without it. So, I get up very early in the mornings to meditate and enjoy my alone time. This also means I go to bed very early which giv...

Re: "Anything you resent/react to in another is in you"

There is a saying in 12 step groups, 'if you spot it, you got it'. I take it one step further and say, 'if you spot it, and it bothers you, you got it'.

It's called The Gentle Art of Blessing and it is transformative. So bless and be still, bless and be still. The Gentle Art of Blessing On awakening, bless this day, for it is already full of unseen good which your blessings will call forth; for to bless is to acknowledge the unlimited good that is e...

Re: Can one control the dreams?

Surprise: Fears tend to come out in our dreams and one very common way is a dream of someone chasing us. While studying dreams for many years I learned one way of dealing with the fear in dreams and that is to try and become lucid(awake within the dream) and face the fear. The fear always melts. Ho...
