Re: Fear

Hello all, I've realized that all the problems and sadness in my life are due to the fear I experienced and I know the fear is still present. In my experience, the recognition that fear is the basic problem of the mind is the most important step. Solutions will show once there is a recognition. Alt...

Re: When you are Horny and Alone

Through repression there is no spiritual growth, and one can practice sex meditatively. But nothing is ever written on what is the best option from a spiritual perspective if one does not have a partner. Masturbation. From my experience, horniness can have its origin in excitement for life in gener...

Re: Karma, fate, free will

Good questions, Lauris. Karma and fate are just concepts. I would say they are true for those who believe them to be true. I personally do not believe in karma--I don't think the universe is that cruel. But these concepts do point to the human mind's tendency to believe in reward-punishment systems....

Re: Helping my mom end her unhappy marriage

Hi Clouded, My fundamental view of the purpose of human life is to move from fear to love. It's a complicated and confusing journey for most of us and possibly the most challenging situations are human relationships. To see it as the spectrum of fear and love and all the in-betweens simplifies the p...

Re: Lose presence when in groups?

When I am by myself, I am able to have a very strong presence and stay in the moment. When I get into groups or go to meetings for work, I seem to lose my self and go away from being present. I seem talk and say things that I wish I had not. As if someone else takes over, maybe the 'ego'. Once I le...

Re: A Question

Can this translate in spiritual work? Lets say a person meditates for two weeks and practices embracing the silence and living a mindful lifestyle. However, when he/she meditates his/her mind is rambling. When he/she practices mindfulness his/her mind rambles. In other words, he/she is going throug...

Re: Facing Death.

How we can face our deepest fear, the fear of death? The fear of death, the fear of life, the fear of oblivion, the fear that we are negligible and temporary and irrelevant specks in the universe, the fear of separateness--this I think is the basic fear which binds us and produces a confused mind f...

Re: Awareness in inanimate objects?

Eckhart tells us to look at a flower or a tree or another person and perceive their awareness which is the same awareness that I am. I can do this and sense the same awarness which is inside me, is also inside other people and trees but when I look at a rock I don't percieve this same awarness. I c...

Re: Kundalini triggering

You may want to consider that what you're experiencing is anxiety. There are straightforward and effective techniques to deal with anxiety. I understand the strong tendency in spirituality towards labeled mystical concepts like Kundalini energy--there is no shortage of new age and old age conceptual...

Can anyone commment on this matter?
My view is it is so that we may choose love again through experience. I leave home so that I may choose again to come back home.

Re: Purpose

The purpose of life as I see it is to move from fear to love. From unconsciousness to consciousness, from resistance to openness, from confusion to clarity. Other purposes can show up, but everything else still seems to be in support of this primary purpose. That, and the free trip I get around the ...

Re: Tips on how to control anger (and stop seeking for reven

I use a release technique which is similar to the Sedona Method technique. It's been in my experience very effective in letting go of anger, anxiety, depression and self-hating emotions.

It's fascinating--this guy imparts wisdom like the stuff we see here: -Live in the now, it's magical -Life has the meaning you give it -This now is all there is now -Don't judge, you can't be free if you judge people -Follow your highest feeling, create, inspire -Do what you love -Life patterns repe...

Re: The Compulsive Mind thinks of watching itself

Hi khoo_kel, In my experience it has been all about techniques which clarify the mind. Looking at the sense of I am (John Sherman has a clear explanation), observing (observing thoughts is a good start), and learning to release emotions--these have been effective for me. Lifestyle changes, beliefs, ...
