Re: The Key to Success and the Key to Failure

I didn't watch the whole thing, but I think I got the gist of it. Positive thoughts lead to success. I do like the definition of success, that it is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal. I think a positive context of mind does attract a positive reality. There is a certain obviousness about...

Re: My discontent with the irony of unconsciousness here.

Because it highlights the pervasive inauthenticity of human nature. Yes, true. But is there a solution to this other than self-observation and self-honesty? A forum about consciousness filled with advice givers who are highly unconscious--without them realizing it. The same people, would diligently...

Re: Tom Campbell-Holographic Evolution

This topic has veered off a bit. I like science. I think it has the possibility of meeting awakening. The scientific process is the same as the awakening process. Both require observation, honesty, and the dropping of all assumptions. Awakening is turned inward; science looks outward. I haven't watc...

Re: The Game of God

Kathleen--it sounds like a great book. It seems that the paradigm you're proposing in the book is the paradigm many of us come to see through awakening. This is how I see it--that we are non-physical beings (or being or God or consciousness or intelligence) who is experiencing itself through the phy...

Re: Your summary of your search

I think each of us are tackling this stuff from a different set of circumstances, I'm coming at it from an acute anxiety sufferer. My medicine has been full exposure treatment....to really free myself from the shackles of the disorder. But if someone doesn't have an anxiety disorder what I'm saying...

Re: Your summary of your search

Look even in the case of the most famous self enquiry of Ramana Maharshi where the enquirer asks onself "to whom do these thoughts arise?".... "To me"...."Well whom am I?" The idea is to try and stop the thinking & silence the Mind by asking questions it cannot perceive an answer to. That's not the...

Re: Is the Pain-Body an Entity?

I'm surpised to see people stray from Eckhart's teachings, ... I'm enormously grateful to ET. He got me started many years ago. With clear and inscisive language, he pentetrated a thickened and stubborn intellect. But once I understood the PON, I moved away from ET. Whereas ET is very useful and cl...

Re: Is the Pain-Body an Entity?

hey there, I know on these boards there can be a conceptualisation of Eckhart's wonderful teachings Which can be a deadening, thing that we instinctively do, the part we are unconsciously automatically formulating, "spiritual" ideas Some people refer to this as spiritualizing the ego--and yes, I ag...

Re: Your summary of your search

I'm 29. I was born with a rare genetic condition that has a huge list of terrible symptoms. Due to this illness, I spent most of elementary school in a wheelchair before getting my left foot amputated in sixth grade. Overall, my family was incredibly dysfunctional. This was probably the biggest pro...

Re: Your summary of your search

... I would add that the truth, in my experience, is immensely simple, a distillation of attention and intent that can only be accessed when the obstifications of the mind are set aside. It's found at the end of the rope, laying sweetly beside the pile of garbage you've tossed in your efforts to 'f...

Self-observation and self-honesty. My motivation was at first suffering, and then a driving intention to know the truth.

Re: emotional pain during all life

Since I was a little girl I feel as I am someone different from others. I feel as If i knew my life would be different and I would feel this loneliness and emotional pain. I think deep inside i always knew I would feel this pain. I did as well. Maybe this is very common, or at least it's common wit...

Re: Thought :: Awareness

Yes, I was at work (shhh don't tell) let me explain myself better. As I see it, when present/aware thoughts can arise within the mind that are from awareness/consciousness itself which give insight/s. This will then usually start the mind thinking about the insight that had arisen. Which can in tur...

Re: Presence vs. Ego :: Who Wins?

Basically until you have gotten a strong enough will power to be present, you may not realize that you identify with thought and that what ever knowledge or belief or idea of reality you have, is just the mind, the false self, the ego, seeking attachment and comfort to an idea or form or belief sys...
