Re: Eckhart TV

I bought it to try for a month, and the live meditation he held was one of my favorite talks I've ever seen him give, so I'll keep paying. I gain a lot with each issue.

Re: Why not much reference to Osho?

I have very limited experience with Osho, but just from the few quotes I've read from The Book of Secrets and a couple of videos I've watched, I agree with kiki that he is very clear.

Re: Eckhart Tolle TV - A short review

Thanks for the review, that sounds pretty nice. Do they record the live events for you to watch later, in case you miss them or sign up after they already happened?

It sounds like this month's meditation hasn't happened yet, have there been any events this month? I'm considering it, seems great.

Re: Can the watcher watch the thinker think?

"..."watching the thinker", which is another way of saying: listen to the voice in your head..." (PON p. 18) I actually find it kind of interesting.. somehow when I am most closely identified with thought, my attention is actually not on the thought that I'm producing very much. It seems like I'm al...

Re: Problems with Adyashanti's meditation technique.

"What you are requires no effort to be what It Is. This may sound like a cliche at first. The Important thing is to really let go of control or manipulation, which is what the mind does. Let go of the idea of being a meditator. Let go of any outcomes, hopes or intentions, any shoulds. Perhaps you co...

Re: Problems with Adyashanti's meditation technique.

Yeah I definitely understand what you're saying but it still feels like I have to use a lot of effort and struggle to be aware of awareness itself. Even though it should be the simplest thing, it feels like I have to really direct the focus of my attention to notice that which is noticing the though...

Re: Problems with Adyashanti's meditation technique.

What I've found in my experience with Adyashanti's meditation is that being caught up in ego drama is already a somewhat effortless thing for me, it's unconscious and doesn't require much doing on my part. It just happens, I mistake the thoughts for me, unconsciously. So when I'm caught up in a lot ...

Re: Help! I've disappeared!

Ananda, I understand what you're saying, and I understand what you're saying too, craig, but I'm still confused as to why, if I am always present, it seems to be so difficult sometimes to sense that feeling "I am". It just seems nonexistent at times. I know that the sense is me, it in fact felt very...

Help! I've disappeared!

Tonight for the first time I really got a sense of the "I am" that Tolle and Maharaj and others talk about, and I noticed that sensing it in every moment, despite my mind's tendency to wander away from it, was intensely satisfying and brought me to a state of seemingly real clarity very quickly, mor...

Re: Eckhart and Byron Katie

I may be doing it wrong but asking myself if a belief is true takes a ton of sifting through thought and memory to come to an answer.

Re: Eckhart and Byron Katie

I agree with karmarider, it's really too analytical for me, and a lot of the time just putting what seem to be my limiting beliefs into words changes them. I find my resistance much easier to be aware of on a physical level. Also, I don't really find Ramana's approach similar, I really like his self...

Re: What clicked for you

This definition of ego by Adyashanti really clicked with me: "Ego is the movement of the mind toward objects of perception in the form of grasping, and away from objects in the form of aversion. This fundamentally is all the ego is. This movement of grasping and aversion gives rise to a sense of a s...

Re: Great interview with Eckhart

That was fantastic, but the part where he talked about different people's readiness for the teaching kind of worried me.. he said that if you read the teachings and don't instantly know them to be true, as in you need a little convincing, then you're not ready to really follow them. Sometimes I do n...

Re: A Serious Flaw

So jugu, what exactly are you experiencing? Because although you say this does not lead to satisfaction and happiness, I've got to say that, as an extremely unenlightened person, I feel most down when I'm resisting what's happening, so it seems to me that if I was in the state of total nonresistance...
