Re: What to let go of

When your mind is truly still, thinking stops. There is no identification with form, and no attachment to form, so there is no need for you to let go of anything. You are already free of all mental constructs.

Re: Self-Esteem?

Does an animal have self-esteem? Does a tree have self-esteem?

When your mind is truly still, mental constructs(mind content) cease to exist, and there is nothing for your to question or need to understand.

Re: Books about dreaming

I just had a lucid dream last night. :) "I was standing in my lounge room, when I turned around and saw a music CD floating past in the air, as if carried by a ghost. I immediately did a reality check by counting my fingers - I had 11 fingers on one hand, so I immediately knew that I was dreaming. I...

Re: Once awakened, nothing to do

If you have truly awakened, you would not feel the need to look for external sources of joy or excitement. Conscious action, as simple as sitting still or washing the dishes, is very satisfying. It is not the action that brings joy or excitement, it is the joy and enthusiasm that flow from you into ...

Re: Am I doing what I am supposed to be doing?

Being precedes doing.

Your primary purpose is to be present. The rest will take care of itself.

Re: Just had a moment of very strong presence

The reason you are not enjoying your holiday in Thailand and want to go home is because every unconscious experience ultimately becomes unsatisfactory. When you get home from Thailand, you will eventually get bored of being home, and will be compelled to go on holidays elsewhere. But really, it's ju...

Re: Having aches and pains...Normal?

But when im in a situation where anxiety or anything like that comes up, my thoughts will come up and it takes over my body and all these weird sensations start appearing again. What you are feeling is simply the result of the anxiety, not presence. :) Your mind is anxious, and your body reacts to ...

Re: consumerism

We're living in a paradox.

Hundreds of millions of people in the world are employed in the service of consumerism ie. manufacture, marketing, distribution, sales.

If the world becomes enlightened, how will the world support itself?

Re: Awakening and panic attacks

If there is some sort of internal struggle inside you, don't fight it.

Observe it. Move deeply into it. Allow it to be, with no expectations.

Give it the space it needs to play itself out.

Re: Concentration vs. Presents

It sounds like you are trying very hard to distract yourself so the negative thoughts don't take you over. And you are labelling this distraction a "focus on the present". If you are upset, that presents a perfect opportunity for you to become present. The emotions in your body, and thoughts in your...
