Re: Nonviolence absolute?

Gandhi would help when another was attacked, but not through violence. Violence was never the answer for Gandhi. For Gandhi, nonviolence was an absolute principle at all times. Can you not think of a way to help someone who is being attacked without using violence yourself? For Gandhi, the answer m...

Re: From Awakening to Depersonalization

Hi Surf ! I dont understand, how can it be horrifying if your state is emotionless ? Bless, M. One of the most terrible things that can happen to a human is a numb state of no feelings and emotions and no calm serenity states where you feel warmth inside, it's all inclusive. You can't even imagine ...

Re: What Am I - What Are You?

Ananda, thank you very much again for the precise answer, you have addressed every single one of my questions and my curiosity has calmed down, a lot. So, absolutely constant internal serenity 100% all the time, that's really nice indeed, but is it really? May be I should be careful what I wish for....

Re: What Am I - What Are You?

Thank you, very informative post, it contains everything. I understand now. So once you go into the state , it's constant I guess, there is no going back? No states are constant (not even Self awareness), however, the identification of the Subject with objects ceases almost immediately upon pure dis...

Re: What Am I - What Are You?

How is the process of disidentification perfomed ? What do I do? I guess I shouldn't repeat all day - I'm not this, I'm not that.... how do you disidentify yourself? Ananda is really good at this actually. As he explained it to me there's actually two ways of doing this (I guess there's many more, ...

Re: What Am I - What Are You?

That's pretty much it gen6. However, one does not identify with the Subject. All one has to do is disidentify with all object, and the Subject, which is you, will be all that is left. How is the process of disidentification perfomed ? What do I do? I guess I shouldn't repeat all day - I'm not this,...

Re: What Am I - What Are You?

Hallo ! Ananda...after completely understanding your point of view and rereading all of our posts plus the one where I replied to Kutso about the bodily identification, I have to say that you are absolutely right, I do identify myself with the body and everything else, I do identify myself as a big ...

Re: What Am I - What Are You?

Hi Ananda, A friend of mine was watching our discussion, this is on his behalf, also I realized my mistakes(namely, the terminology ) when I read what he has to say: Hello there! I read through most of your discussion with my friend here. What follows are just a few basic observations, which I jott...

Re: What Am I - What Are You?

Very well Ananda, to proceed with the discussion please define ,,knowledge,, as it's pretty important word in this case. What are the characteristics of knowledge? What is knowledge, how it is used, for what do we use knowledge, where it comes from? What do you think about the Wikipedia definition ?...

Re: What Am I - What Are You?

Ah, if we have to stick to the official definitions of object, subject you are right, I didn't express what I think clearly. Subject can never be an object. So, what is the subject? It cannot be defined, except to say, it's an observer? Is this observer made from matter, or it's just an observ...

Re: What Am I - What Are You?

Can you tell me in what way this proves that the ,,I,, is not generated by the brain? The "I" is that which all objects are known by, but is not an object itself. It is the subject. By saying that the "I" is generated by the brain you are making an object of the subject, which it is not. You are ob...

Re: What Am I - What Are You?

Ananda, I just read your post and I was like - You have to be kidding me . I'll explain the faulty mechanism you are using to avoid everything I say. I fear that you have encapsulated yourself in your conceptual system and there may not be a way out...ever ... but it's not a big thing, since it doe...
