Re: Blessing everyone/ everything

Sounds wonderful! I don't think you need to do anything more than what you describe. Stay simple. :-) This practice is, by the way, very similar to the Buddhist practices of metta (lovingkindness) and tonglen (empathy). You might get some inspiration by reading about these.

Re: Two words about acceptance.

... watching [depression] allows the constipated energy of depression to be depleted and released from the body rather than remaining pent up inside you. Feeling occasionally somewhat depressed is fairly harmless. But being in a persistent clinical-strength depression is something very very differe...

Re: Awareness Watching Awareness

Ah yes, the venerable and creative mind. (Although there are those who maintain that all creativity comes from Source - a starting point is the seminal course in creativity "The Artist's Way" by Julia Cameron, 1992.) My niece bought that book for me a few years ago, said she thought I'd love it. Bu...

Re: Awareness Watching Awareness

Sorry, but I don't follow this, don't see why being transient/changing prevents one from recognizing transience/change. Awareness is the stillness that allows movement/change to be recognized; it is the silence that allows sound to be heard; it is the peace that allows non-peace to be recognized; i...

Re: Awareness Watching Awareness

Why can't you/I/we be simply transient ever-changing phenomena playing themselves out, from birth to death, done? If you were transient and ever changing you would not have the capacity to recognise change or transience. You would in effect be unconscious. You'd be non existant. Sorry, but I don't ...

Re: Awareness Watching Awareness

Thanks, kiki, for your generous response. :-) I'm still having lots of trouble understanding, both intellectually and viscerally, what it means and why it is beneficial to: "Be aware that you are aware." The intellectual understanding that "You" are awareness will aid you ... So am I correct in unde...

Re: presence with two or three things

Let go of focus, concentration, or direction...allow the whole picture to be seen at once (instead of focusing with tunnel vision on only a small portion). "Soft eyes" yes? When I do soft mind (whole-brain, multiple-sense equivalent of soft eyes) I often feel ___________ (reality, ground, truth, et...

Re: Awareness Watching Awareness

kiki, et al, I'm still having lots of trouble understanding, both intellectually and viscerally, what it means and why it is beneficial to: "Be aware that you are aware." Why is it not enough to simply (deeply) be aware? It seems to me that the recursion in "being aware that you're aware" is like a ...

Welcome rM -- ... Say, which Krishnamurti held your interest?...UG has a couple of fans here, but most prefer Jiddu. Thanks for the welcome, Andy. :-) And, yes, it's Jiddu Krishnamurti. abide O.E. abidan, gebidan "remain," from ge- completive prefix (denoting onward motion; see a- (1)) + bidan "bid...

Re: presence with two or three things

How can I be present with two, three or more things at once(here they are tree, flovers, garden etc)… while our human capacity only let us be present with only one item each time..I mean one can’t be present two things at once … I used to wonder about this issue with respect to sensory perception duri...

Re: Intellectual resonance

hi runstrails. I have a long way to go to awaken. beware of creating a self-fulfilling prophecy with this attitude. maybe your time to "pop" is right around the corner? I know that an ‘intellectual insight’ is of the mind and hence best disregarded. do you know this from irrefutable personal discove...

Re: hi!

thanks, kiki. :-)

i just read the rules. it's a bit daunting to be greeting with 13 dos/don'ts ... but they all seem reasonable. i'm very aware of where forums can go (even "spiritual" forums) if they are unmoderated free-for-alls. ;-)
