Re: Best meditation method??

18andlife near the top of the ladder ''I" becomes relatively transparent but still seems to view inner ''things" from a position in inner space, I call that the final position, the origin of subject and object. If I see that I am seeing from somewhere with no position...........and I contain subject...

Re: Best meditation method??

To help and explain Ananda's worthy method we need to understand that there are two fundamental approaches to 'that which can not be understood' or what I am. These two approaches are fundamentally different yet one originates in the west and one in the east. They can be described as or top down and...

Re: Krishnamurti - Love, Sex & Pleasure

I am sure one will stay if you are sensitive to the situation. She is dying for love. And there is really only the love of Wom a n. One love through out all your past lovers, that is it, that is the love of woman. The one love behind every woman's body. She is the mystery. Every woman is a personali...

Re: Krishnamurti - Love, Sex & Pleasure

A quote from Barry Long who was a great lover of Woman and God:

"You don't need a celibate body, you need a celibate mind"

That sounds like purity to me.

Re: orgasms

He tells about making love and 'loveplay' which both use presence/concessness rather then mental stimulation. Monish :) Eliminating imagination from the sexual act is the essence of this practice. Why eliminate imagination? So that you can make love to a real woman and not a fantasy. Emotion become...

Re: Other people

Good advice from WW. I will go at it from my perspective. The danger is of course is in getting psychic negativity transferred. Now saying that is like saying that negativity comes from somewhere else it doesn't it is my self that comes up. Being in the company of people who are being negative thoug...

Re: Reincarnation

Emotion reincarnates all the time. Up it comes for another incarnation and makes me and all those around me unhappy. Abstractly in me is the desire to exist, felt as a feeling or yearning for experience. Reflection on memory, remembering what I know, all occur because something in me wants to exist....

Re: The test: Staying present during repetitive tasks

I have seen that the thinking has come about through mind identifying with movement of the body. Especially repetitive tasks. There is like a past psychic record playing and it takes conscious effort to remove the stylus, the needle, to stop the noise. The needle keeps getting pulled back onto the r...

Re: What gets enlightened

If this is your experience (that ego returns whenever you are not meditating) then you have not gone deep enough to cut out the ignorance and have not cemented yourself fully in the knowledge that you are the Self. If the realisation of Self is an intellectual one then it can not penetrate this mat...

Re: Ego and Personality

I don't see this as lost effort. It has to be done through self knowledge and it is rightly done with the knowledge of I am something greater than myself/ego. The furious self/ego will resist diminishment but eventually it submits to my will and causes me no problem. The secret is in the feeling of ...

Re: What gets enlightened

Eckhart weighs in here in a March episode of Eckhart TV: http://eckharttolle.blip.tv/posts?view=archive&nsfw=dc "Who becomes enlightened?" is an excerpt in the third row. Andy Thanks for that Andy. So to summarise Eckhart here; "No person gets enlightened.....the person becomes more transparent, le...

Re: What gets enlightened

I is wholely and not in part (individuality) the Self. It is the idea that you are anything but the absolute Self which is the cause of bondage, the removal of this ignorance by permanent direct Self awareness is what constitutes enlightenment. This is the final reality that you describe Ananda and...

Re: What gets enlightened

Tim Freke talks about the “both/and” paradox of awakening. You are both “little vera” and you know you are merged with Being, as Awareness. This again sounds like there is a third party involved which we could call an individual self-knowledge , it would have to be the case for a "both/and" reality...

Re: What gets enlightened

. But it still feels like I'm pressing up against a glass wall, looking in at something. It's all still just something in my head. I get the sense of this too. It is like self has a certain gravitational pull that draws awareness on to it. It is like being stuck to a face mask. Is this what you mean?
