Re: Where is freedom in all this? Where is self-determination?

Well, ET would say the book wanted to be written, he didn't choose it. We don't buy a book, we don't read it, but all those things happen to us. Its the universe the brings those things about. We can't invite presence in our lives. All actions we take to invite it happen to us. Well ET can say many...

Re: Where is freedom in all this? Where is self-determination?

Hi braveheart, First off, from your questions--its clear that you are thinking and contemplating deeply. That's wonderful! Thank you runstrails, your expression "Once that is realized, then of course, there is no purpose for 'you' to fulfil, so to speak, since there is no 'you'. Its all reality. Re...

Re: Where is freedom in all this? Where is self-determination?

You can make the choice to sit down, deeply let go and practice being aware of your mind. Can I? Hasn't it to take place by itself? I think maybe you took it a little wrong what Eckarte said, I'm not sure. See it for yourself: http://www.blip.tv/file/3426293/ ; http://www.blip.tv/file/2920167/ But ...

Re: Where is freedom in all this? Where is self-determination?

Let me try answering directly to your question. What confused you is that he said - we don't choose to be present, it has to happen to us. Well, sometimes you have to get used to the paradoxes and of not always technically correct expressions. One thing can mean two sometimes three things. It depen...

Re: Where is freedom in all this? Where is self-determination?

No, that's not what I meant. What is 'purpose'? Explain to me what 'purpose' means. Going from a point to another Yes, this happens. They look to find something that they already are and have been all along. What of these people? They suffer no more. Isn't that a deprivation? They didn't see 'heave...

I can't release all concepts because there is no "me" that can do that. We keep going back to the same point but ironically i'm getting it :-D

Re: Where is freedom in all this? Where is self-determination?

What is purpose? Purpose in life? realizing the meaning of life, finding out who I truly am, being fully myself Awareness is not something that happens. Awareness is. I meant awareness expressing itself through a form (my form in this case :-D) What is not accessible to everybody? Please elaborate....

Re: Where is freedom in all this? Where is self-determination?

In other words, if there is no "I", no "me", but only there is was it is, what do i do when i'm suffering? I can't feel my inner body, I can't feel my breath, I can't be with my suffering, I can't be present, because there is no "I" that can do all those things. So basically if this form is destined...

Re: Where is freedom in all this? Where is self-determination?

Great questions, BH. The best realization is that there is no 'you'--that 'braveheart is simply a construct of mind. (Kiki has some great posts on this recently--see link) http://eckhart-tolle-forum.inner-growth.info/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=7154&start=0 Once that is realized, then of course, there is ...

Where is freedom in all this? Where is self-determination?

Hi everyboby. I've been feeling to write about this the whole day. ET has always said that only one thing is absolutely important which is awareness, and that our primary purpose in life is being present. Now, in a couple of recent videoclips he says that we don't choose to be present, but it has to...

Re: Did primitive peoples not think continously?

Interesting, Epsen. However, I don't quite get your question. I expect that primitive peoples who lived in direct contact with nature were in touch with source for longer periods of time than modern man. Are you asking, why did they not get enlightened? Perhaps they were, to differing extents. I th...

How long for can you be present every day?

Hi everybody.
I was wondering if anybody in this forum can be constantly present.
Myself, I switch from presence to unconsciousness continuosly and I'm present maybe 3-4 hours a day.
What about you?
