Re: Ego in marriage

Thanks for your answer. You are totaly right. See first ego in yourself. That happened to me today. I was fighting with my husbund something, and then i realized, it is ego in me. Yes its also in him, but can be only responsible for my own actions. So i stopped fighting, and suddenly he came to me,...

Re: Ego in marriage

i don't know much about marriage but, sex is a great outlet. I am single and wanting to learn the karma sutra and tantra. I think there are levels one can achieve single but, there are levels that the unity of marriage can bring a man and woman. That symbolism of the two becoming one is pretty power...

Re: Divorce and soul alignment

I realise that your partner is supposed to be your teacher, and the suffering is to draw you out of the ego kind. - Apolloislost There will be difficulties and negativity whether you're alone or with someone. So, you have a choice: 1. Stay and practice presence with your relationship difficulties a...

Re: Feel More Present nearing Breakup

I know the feeling all too well. I am single so, I crave a date or a gf. I want to get married and have a family though, I question whether I always wanted this or if I grew up having it and assumed it was the way. I am still unsure if it is the sentiment that I am after, if it was learned behavior ...

Re: Divorce and soul alignment

I have been married awhile and it’s been very difficult with loads of suffering on both sides. I realise that your partner is supposed to be your teacher, and the suffering is to draw you out of the ego kind. If all this is true - why do I want to get a divorce so I can have some peace and quiet? W...

Re: Divorce and soul alignment

I'm going through the same thing... Not really a divorce, and she doesn't make a racket or anything but I do fancy other women and I've been trying to stifle this because of a misconception that it's somehow more "enlightened" to not have those desires/needs. The problem is she has a lot of presenc...

Re: Leaf in the wind

Cool. Good luck on your journey! :) I'm reminded suddenly of a quote: “What we are looking for is what is looking.”― Francis of Assisi Thanks for the response. There is a childhood cartoon I watched growing up. A character was going through vigorous training to be the strongest. Despite his best ef...

Re: Relationships and feelings of need

Morning all. I hope you don't mind me sharing my story and can offer some words of advice. I am fairly new to eckhart tolle and found myself captivated by a new earth and it definitely awakening something in me. I suppose my question and problem is my relationship on some days. Re: Long term decisions (stop drinking, losing weight)?

Thanks for your answer but your point is the same as any other opinion: alcohol is bad. Yes, I know. But now the question was not that. I am the wrong person to help you understand Tolle however, I am losing weight :) so maybe I can help. Something I notice is that, if I don't buy it, I wont eat it...

Re: Leaf in the wind

This person I keep referring to as guru told me "there is a contract written." I've heard this all before in a different way in bible school as a kid. Something much in the life of fate and or destiny. Despite some of my best efforts, I feel stuck, and even stagnant at times. There is much of the t...

Leaf in the wind

I have had the good fortune of having met what I like to refer to as "gurus," mentors, something of a spiritual role model. God only knows where I would have been without these people. In every case, they are always much older, are not from around here, and have lived quite a INTERESTING LIFE. When ...

I wonder if she was on the phone or texting. Yeah, cell phones and Farcebook/Shitter have highlighted a whole new order of magnitude of human stupidity. Albert Einstein - "Two things are infinite: The universe and human stupidity ... and I'm not sure about the universe." Your back :D Yes. This sort...

Re: A very close call.

I feel pretty lucky right now. On my way home from work I was almost to a full stop and I heard terrible screaching tires behind me. Before I knew it, a caravan came flying from behind me, to the left side of me and into oncoming traffic, trying to avoid slamming into my car. Time stood absolutely ...

Re: living a malevolent tragedy;

I am just coming out of this after the past four weeks. Something has come to my attention. I am becoming aware that, for most if not all of my life, I have viewed much of my existence as a threat. I have experienced a lot of death around me in my circle of friends or family beginning at a young age...
