Re: Time consists only of past and future

How does being in the Present help disidentify from body identification though? and therefore it's ethnicity, attractiveness, appearance, etc.

or do only the mind-made problems that come with being this specific body exist in time?

Re: Awakening

I recall Eckhart saying in multiple writings and video teachings that you wouldn't be reading or listening to these teachings if you were not in the process of awakening, do you guys agree with him?

Re: It's My Life -- Not???

The memory-self is our default setting. Mostly we are not aware of it but as we go about our business we are constantly referring experience to a mind-made, remembered, historical self - a 'me and my story' that extends back into the past and forwards towards an anticipated future Oh I like that wo...

Does Every Single Ego Suffer?

Do they all somehow even suffer the same amount?

I know there's no definite answer to this but I'm interested in the replies anyway.

Re: I do not understand how ACTION arises out of PRESENSE/BE

You can still use the mind while in Presence. As a matter of fact, that's how humanity is supposed to be using it (like a tool) instead of the mind using us.

Re: Personal account from a "friend" of Eckhart

Don't know why people call him small. He's 5'10". And that obviously doesn't matter, lol, but I read an account by a woman who happened to see Eckhart sitting in a secondhand bookstore (I think she knew who he was before this, but didn't think much of him). She said something like "I felt such divin...

Can you reference where he has said this?
I think it's this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6enlQkcgiw

Re: "Nothing is stronger than emotions."

Emotions are where the body and mind meet, or the body's reaction to thoughts. That's an approximation of what Eckhart says.

Re: Is suicide really a "no" ?

I don't know, but Dr. Raymond Moody said all the suicide near-death experiencers he interviewed had the same NDEs as non-suicides. Also, those who attempted suicide and experienced an NDE never attempted again, while suicide attempts that don't experience NDEs usually do attempt again.
