Re: when ego is more power full then awareness

If you cannot practice, then allow unconciousness. When you have that glimpse, if you can, try not complaining about why you have not been concious, but bring full focus on the glimpse itself. If you cannot, that s ok also, but afterwards try not complaing about complaining. Good insight! I know th...

When you can't accept that you can't accept...

In a state of utter obscurity, when the triggers weren't observed in enough time, when the layers upon layers of anxiety that feel crippling and other obsessions and deep pain and boundless chitter chatter and thoughts are obscuring the entire being. When nothing provides relief and being unable to ...

Re: Emotions: good & bad

Ditto on what golf said! Been having a lot of similar experiences to the elevator one DavidB talked about. And instead of guilting myself for even having the initial negative reaction in the first place I am trying to practice simply accepting it and taking more of an interest in it instead. And thi...

Re: Ego replaying movies, music, conversations...

Sounds VERY familiar to me. All of it. I try to approach these obsessive thoughts with the observing, but I simply can't get it to work or help. What tactics have you tried?

Re: Parenting and role playing

VERY insightful! Thank you for this. It makes a great deal of sense to me! I know that we teach our children by example. They learn from us through observation and sensation. It can be a beautiful thing...

Re: Parenting and role playing

All this makes a lot of sense. I think I just misinterpreted what Tolle was saying and got confused. Thank you both for clearing that up. I have a lot of insecurities as a first time mom and feel pretty vulnerable to what I read when it comes to raising children. Working on that, though;) You know, ...

Re: Is this regression?

Ha! Very true! These two concepts cannot co-exist, can they? I hadn't thought of it like that before.

Thanks for your insight :)

Parenting and role playing

I was rereading A New Earth this evening. The first time I read it was about a year or so ago and things since then have changed a great deal. I am now the mother of an 11 month old daughter. So, when I reread the chapter on Role Playing in regards to parenthood, I took a special interest this time ...

Re: One step forward, two steps back?

Yes, I definitely had a breakthrough the other day. It was pretty exciting, actually. And so, to experience the polar opposite the following day really scared me. I attempted to put the practices into play and to apply what I have experienced and learned so far and felt miserable. My seemingly infin...

One step forward, two steps back?

Well, yesterday I experienced an awakening I have never fully encompassed in life so far. I was not blissful or stress free all day by any means. But things I had previously been so confused about became clear and natural and made so much sense to me. All sorts of revelations, and better yet, I was ...

Re: Is this regression?

Being attentive of our attentive nature will help bring about that realization. And therefore, being attentive of our inattentive nature will also help bring out the realization, I imagine? I mean, being aware of when our ego speaks, regardless of whether or not we are able to let the thoughts go o...

Re: Emotions: good & bad

Well said, Golf! That really struck me. Differentiating the mind emotions from the other, more indefinite sensations. We always seem to merge the sensations of "excitement, thrill, feeling high on life" with true joy and peace. And yet, they are so fundamentally different.

Re: Does it ever feel forced to you?

my current solution is to just take a break from trying and allow myself to sink into unconsciousness for a while and maybe have a beer. Then I resume meditation sometime later, and it seems to come a little easier. I realise this is not something Eckhart would ever suggest, so I suspect it is a fl...

Re: Throw your life away depression and the Power of Now

Karmarider- I am really grateful that you provided that reference and post. I visited the website and it truly speaks to me. I have found that the information and insights are so clear to me. Devoid of all of the semantics and labels and such. Rather forthright and much more comprehensible. Very val...
