Re: Getting past the ego

See through and through what your thoughts really are. Renounce it. Let it go. Mindfulness is only a way to get you distracted from your thoughts, a way for you to detach from your thoughts. Dig deeper to find out where mindfulness really comes from. Like playing the piano, it is only a technique un...

Re: Biocentrism and Quantum Physics

So, I think when a lot of people (and as RachMiel and other posters know since we've been discussing this in another thread), talk about how something like the 'moon is only there when we look at it', ultimately, the Moon is going to be there no matter what, but it cannot be known as such or illumi...

Re: How to forget a desire?

Thank you TemporalDissonance. I am trying. I am just afraid of a life without love. I am terrified. It's okay to in fear and be terrified. Fear isn't your enemy. It is trying to guide you. Be with it and listen to the guidance within. Life is really a book, a story. We will never know whether there...

Re: How to forget a desire?

Christina said: How to forget your biggest desire? Something that you do not have strength to continue without, however you have to forget because there are no possibilities to become true anymore? Wanting to "forget your biggest desire" itself is a desire. A desire cannot be "exterminated" by usin...

Re: Is there an Energetic Component?

Many great contemplations. One (reasonable) school of thought is that it's all energy. Is that "energy" the same as Consciousness? Ultimately, it's all one Pure Awareness/Consciousness experiencing through different expressions of form and the whole purpose of it all is merely to evolve Consciousnes...

Is there an Energetic Component?

The forum inquiring whether there is a need for maintaining a discipline got me wondering whether there is an "energetic" component to self-realization or does that depends on which path/traditions one subscribe to? Eckhart has his inner body and pain body, John Sherman's "looking". Meditation can h...

Re: The importance of maintaining a discipline

So many great posts, I can't keep up! But let's stay with the Advaitan take: your true nature is 'this.' Coming to know this with utter certainty might have been quite easy for you. But it is not by any means easy for everyone. Take me as an example. I understood it intellectually immediately; it's ...

Re: The importance of maintaining a discipline

I think ET's 'inner body' reference is a wonderful tool. However, I don't think it's meant for complete realization of one self. I've always viewed it as utilizing the body as a 'portal' to one's true nature in that..... seeing the existence that you are, via the body, by seeing that you are 'alive...

Re: The importance of maintaining a discipline

I'm just speaking on behalf of myself in that I find the experience 'path' to be too bodily focused at least from the standpoint of yoga teachers. This is interesting. I haven't started my yoga lessons yet  , care to explain more where you are coming from? I have found similarities in Eckhart'...

Re: The importance of maintaining a discipline

Many believe that enlightenment is some sort of 'spiritual feeling', but in my experience, it's not. All it really is, is an understanding that you've been living your life with an identity crisis for many years lol. This realization that you are 'it', is all it really is. I like the path of knowle...

Re: Do I sit and wait for enlightenment to happen?

I know that these feelings don't really belong to the me in my truest form and that my depressing stories don't exist but the unpleasant sensations I get from them do exist. Continuing to what Webwanderer wrote above. A slightly different approach in reference to the above quote, if one knows that ...

Re: A Christmas Wish

Frankly, I have little interest in dates and historical facts, but I appreciate your sharing. Yes, I am aware of the research that points to July as the month Jesus was born. But I am trying to convey something that is not at all about facts. Moreover, I am 'trying' to speak about God working throu...
