Re: What happens in our brain/mind when we win over a big fe

BTW, Unhappiness still arises, as memory & thinking still arise. To say when someone awakens to a fear pattern, that suddenly they are never unhappy again is misleading. Overall unhappiness is reduced, because suffering is reduced... but you can't stop having an unhappy moment, you can only break t...

Re: letting go emotions/thoughts

Forgive my somewhat (or all-what) irreverence here Mike, you would understand with Crohns disease that sometimes no matter what you do sh..it happens, and with IBS that some things create disturbances following natural consequence. Not punishment and judgement, not right or wrong.. just is... natur...

Re: What happens in our brain/mind when we win over a big fe

Sometimes it's just depression with me, low energy and wanting to stay home and sleep. I have to remember to ask myself, "what is my greatest fear here" and once I put my finger on it, (fear of rejection, judgment, abandonment, loneliness), I know that I have to go and do it (face the fear). That's...

Re: Explaining your experience to those who have not felt it

If I may just add. I know that what I experienced is 100 percent real because I experienced it. Therefore, it "is". However, I still can't 100 percent vouch for the notion that what I experienced is awareness outside of the brain because I have no way of knowing that since every thought is based off...

Re: Explaining your experience to those who have not felt it

Getting back to the original topic in this thread and basing from what Ride indicated in his last post, that "how do we know that real is real?". When we have direct experience and conceptualization that what we are is awareness in itself in that anything and everything that "is" is merely noticed w...

Re: letting go emotions/thoughts

........... I tend to find I have the same insight whether I'm performing/creating or listening/awareness.... and I'm as happy to be in full ego expression as not, it is what it is, and this too will pass  And I wonder if the two words we've used - outlook - and - insight - are important clue...

Re: Explaining your experience to those who have not felt it

Thanks Andy. I'm going to purchase a couple at a time and start from there. I just purchased "Talks" and "I am that" to start off. I just downloaded Adyashanti's free ebook as well which I believe you recommended and I see it's only 53 pages which is really cool. I'm excited to read it. I'll be back...

Re: Explaining your experience to those who have not felt it

We have a "recommended books" section in the forum, here: http://eckhart-tolle-forum.inner-growth.info/viewforum.php?f=27 I like Tim Freke, and his latest book "The Mystery Experience" is sort of scientific but very accessible. -- Also "How Long is Now?" Must own books are "Talks" by Ramana Maharsh...

Re: Explaining your experience to those who have not felt it

Granted, I'm leaning towards the notion that the brain itself is a holographic image based on much of what Quantum Physics is learning The following comment is not meant to be confrontational and argumentative, but rather a seeking for understanding...please take it as such. Text messages like thes...

Re: Explaining your experience to those who have not felt it

Personally, I think there can be a lot of concepts so to speak that one can get caught up in. However, this is why experience is crucial in understanding "being". Whether it's through meditation or another 'technique' such as the Sherman method that Karma had recommended as well earlier in the threa...

Re: Explaining your experience to those who have not felt it

Thanks so much for the insight there Kiki and Sandy. It's clicked again for me. I was actually going through the site reading some old posts. RachMiel (spelling?) had literally the exact same questions I had in a previous thread from last year and he/she received some incredible answers from many di...

Re: letting go emotions/thoughts

Thanks Jen. I agree. I have a very different outlook when I'm performing music as opposed to listening to it at least in the early stages of composing a song, etc. Either way, I find music to be a language of its own that all creatures are able to interact with. It's my largest passion in this "exte...

Re: Explaining your experience to those who have not felt it

Let me take a stab at this, let's say our sense perceptions are like the computer keyboard and can only be activated when the keys are pressed. When they are pressed, information are sent to the brain/mind. Here the brain and mind reads out which letters and keys were pressed. "Awareness" is like a...

Re: Explaining your experience to those who have not felt it

Until you find what you ARE all this is just hot air. It's like saying, if I could remove my right foot and replace it with a donkey and the sky was made of chocolate chip cookies, could you still sing the National Anthem ? Hmm ... ? That's a tough one. How about, if you were a woman instead of a m...
