Re: Explaining your experience to those who have not felt it

Thanks Karma, I've tried the method actually in the past and found it not very helpful because it basically is too vague and it's essentially inquiring within, but the same questions still arise. Basically, how we do we know that what we perceive as "awareness" is not merely another sense perception...

Re: Explaining your experience to those who have not felt it

I figured this is the perfect thread to piggy back. I just had an experience with a friend who was inquiring about reading "A New Earth" as I had recommended it to them about 5 months ago. We started a discussion about "consciousness" and what "reality" was. After I explained to her my experience an...

Re: letting go emotions/thoughts

Thoughts fade in, play for a while, fade out. (I'm a musician too.) Likewise, ego -- which is a thought/memory complex -- fades in, is active for a while, fades back out. There's no problem with any of it ... as long as identification and attachment don't kick in too strong. (Both of which are also...

Re: letting go emotions/thoughts

Jen, Can you tell me where I can access this "Being Human" thread? I'd love to read more about this. I had a very strong "ego attack" tonight. I really can't think of any other way to word it. I've been in and out of presence so to speak for days on and days off over the past month and a half since ...

Re: Explaining your experience to those who have not felt it

I'm in the early stages of "awakening" so to speak, granted still ego identified on and off and have encountered the exact same situation. However, I don't think there's a "solution". You can't force this stuff onto others as everyone awakens at their own pace and often times never until the very la...

Re: letting go emotions/thoughts

Totally agree Treausure. That's what gets me. The scientists (which is the majority) who condemn anything that's non physical so to speak. However, that's the world we live in. It's the exact same way in the medical community as holistic medicine gets ignored because pharma companies have control an...

Re: letting go emotions/thoughts

One other thing. If we wish to throw science out the window, well that's perfectly fine. However, what is the point of having a forum such as this then? Are we not just throwing around MORE concepts in each thread that are created by our "minds" which essentially is what science is doing?

Re: letting go emotions/thoughts

I'm not sure what's underneath all this disdain toward science. I threw out a bone on the other thread thinking the trouble might be that science altogether neglects the nonphysical world of spirit, since it can't be measured by the five physical senses with instruments, but that doesn't seem to be...

Re: letting go emotions/thoughts

ET talks about this constantly in making sure we see emotions for what they are. I agree: See emotions for what they are. But part of what they are is little miracles of human-ness. To try to fully "transcend" them -- an impossible task! -- is a dead end, throwing the baby out with the bathwater. F...

Re: letting go emotions/thoughts

From your original post it seems you are doing fine! You can scan your body frequently and see does it feel relaxed, open and peaceful. Is there any tension or anxiety there. In my experience the body is the best indicator or whether we are suppressing or not. I like to sit and give thoughts some s...

Re: letting go emotions/thoughts

Edit: I should also mention that I have been working on the "Sedona Method" which is very effective for powerful emotions and thoughts that have been trapped in me. However, I feel I rarely have to use this route because emotions are dissipating on their own. I looked at the Sedona Method in a book...

Re: letting go emotions/thoughts

It is not beautiful that there are many interpretations. It is just a demonstration of the various games that mind plays, and people allowing themselves to live in delusion. That is not beautiful at all. . I don't understand why you would not find that beautiful. The fact that we as beings living i...

Re: letting go emotions/thoughts

Ride, I agree with the premise of your post. However, this is partially being proven by Quantum Physics now that we all stem from a "unified field" and that we are essentially living in a holographic illusion. While it's something I myself lean towards based on ET's teachings and other Buddhist teac...

Re: letting go emotions/thoughts

Thanks for the responses Rach and Ride. I think I'm on the same page as both of you essentially, granted a matter of wording or such. I think it's a lot simpler than people make it out to be especially when it all clicks. There's a lot more than merely concepts to understand here as I believe person...
