Re: letting go emotions/thoughts

Do all emotions stem from thoughts? Isn't the feeling of pure joy you experience observing (not intepreting) ... the sky, a tree, a face, a rock ... an emotion? How about the feeling of awe looking up at the night sky? I think what you're describing here is a natural state of being. I wouldn't labe...

Re: letting go emotions/thoughts

One other thing I'd like to add to this. If we put our attention into the body and away from the thought causing the emotion, what is really left after that? After all, emotions stem FROM thoughts and vice versa. Therefore, just by observing the thought and then shifting our attention into the body ...

Re: letting go emotions/thoughts

Rach, thanks so much for your response. I completely agree that they are a huge expression of our being human and should never intentionally be killed off. However, how are they NOT by products of the ego? After all, thoughts and emotions are directly related. Emotions are essentially by products of...

Re: The Inner Body and The Pain Body

There are numerous methods to explore to release emotions including EFT which is tapping into the body's energy points and also other methods such as the "Sedona Method" which I have been utilizing on my own to some degree. As to your question, from my experience, observe the thought and the see the...

letting go emotions/thoughts

Hey everybody, I've actually done quite a job in the last month and a half of dis-identifying with the ego. As a result, there are a lot of emotions and thoughts that come up either through meditation or in regular daily life. However, often times, these emotions never reach their full potential any...

Re: difficult situation

When I initially formed this thread, I was quite egoically identified especially with the "situation". A lot has changed over the course of the last few weeks for me and my outlook has changed as well. I'm also going to incorporate what you, Typist and Merlin have recommended. It can really suck yo...

Re: difficult situation

Sorry for the lag in reply I've been away. Back a couple of pages it seems my notion of 'difference' not being 'right' or 'wrong' for self or others went a little astray. In all relationships ---- show up!! Be there fully. It's not about whether another person is worthy of your attention, but that ...

Re: The world of form/the physical

Thanks all for the incredibly helpful responses and resources. I've been reading and watching videos on this the past couple of days and I'm finally getting the hang of it. Man, this is powerful stuff. I absolutely find this fascinating when it starts to make sense. I just wonder why this is not acc...

Re: The world of form/the physical

In one sense the brain/mind is what makes us human, but that is only an instrument of human experience. I see the primary factor in humanness as a particular perspective on being - albeit a temporary one - in order to explore experience in this unique environment. WW Ok, so in order to understand w...

Re: The world of form/the physical

Thanks WW and Ashley. From watching some of the videos last night from Dr. John Hagelin and some other similar videos on youtube pertaining to the holographic universe, it seems that Quantum Physicists are implying that the Awareness or the "unified field' is the building blocks of everything as eve...

Re: The world of form/the physical

May I recommend "The Joy of Living" by Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche. The Tibetan Buddhists occasionally send out a particularaly brilliant lad, and this is one. He studied at MIT in addition to years in Dzogchen monasteries. On about page 60 he approaches this problem in a different way, related to the ...

Re: The world of form/the physical

Very nice, rfe. Sometimes you hit them out of the park. E2B, my view of the universe is nicely presented in the Conversations with God , and is close to the Hindu view of things. But it doesn't matter. I can't prove it; nor can anyone prove their view to me. You were born. And one day you will die....

The world of form/the physical

Something I have still been grappling with is the world of form or the physical or essentially the universe that we perceive through via the use of the physical body. My understanding is that the world as we see it is essentially an image portrayed by awareness/consciousness which we essentially are...
