Re: Realisation and the mind

I think advada, buddhism, Christianity, new age, etc.... Are simply platforms of which to propel, when the experience of this mind matter phenomenon is able to be observed those platforms are unnecessary and are not neccessary to return to. To strongly identify with one may be a sign the individual ...

Re: Realisation and the mind

Hi Rob you seem to be misunderstanding the Buddhist theory. To fully break free from the ego even the most subtlest can be a lifetimes work. Realization of ones true nature is simply the first frution stage. Insights are only part of this first stage.

Re: Realisation and the mind

Buddhist practitioners often get flashes of experiential understanding quite quickly. But full liberation, as you say, is generally a very slow process. Unlearning a lifetime, perhaps lifetimes of deeply conditioned habits of mind is crazy hard. And again, unless it's experienced, Buddhism doesn't ...

Re: Sudden insights, inspirations and ideas

Women have this horrible condition that rears up once a month. There is a pre period time frame that lasts about a week and a half, and then there is the period in the middle which lasts a few days and then there is the apre period time which lasts another week or so. During this time it is good to ...

Re: How to stop being too much self-conscious?

That really sucks, I had the same thing growing up and it was really painful. It will get better but I still get occasional acne now and I'm 46. My mother has the same skin. Try to carry on with your studies, and live your life. Take care.

Re: Tolle, or Eastern approaches vs. Christianity

Hi e2b hope you are feeling better, I don't feel people are promoting the idea of achieving this this or this to realize God, it's more of a letting go of this this and this. Realizing how this creation comes into existence, seeing it's fleeting nature and how identifying with it is suffering. Throu...

Re: Eternal Awareness?

This is not directed at you mystic, I am trying to touch on your points but I'm posting from my phone so it is difficult to break it into quotes, so this may come out a bit jumbled. We are the sum total of our mental formations(past lives) our attachment to these past lives keep us stoking the egoic...

Re: Eternal Awareness?

Ego can also be present in "my awareness or my consciousness" not to dismiss these experience, but to remind not to get drawn into them, consumed by them, identify with them as self. There is no control of this experiences they are fleeting, impermanent by nature. Conscious awareness is eternal and ...

Re: Eternal Awareness?

You are eternally aware already as awareness, whether you are aware that you are awareness or not. However, when in deep sleep, awareness has nothing to be aware of...not any objects (subtle or gross). Therefore, again, awareness has no way to be aware of an inner or outter world and is just aware ...

Re: Eternal Awareness?

When the Buddha was asked if he was a god, he replied "I am awake". I feel that to be continuously awakened in perfect mental balance is the goal of full enlightenment.

Re: Expressing love with discernment

Love is non-judgemental, it doesn't sound like you love this girl but it does sound like you crave for this girls physical attributes. From my experience this type of relationship will be a roller-coaster ride. It will be initially a rush but soon enough you will want to get off. If this girl is ver...

Re: Question about awareness and identity

Thanks rachMeil,
This practice sprinkled with some Tolle has been very helpful in looking at the accumulated selves and seeing this as impermanent changing phenomenon, nothing to get attached to.

Kind regards.
