Re: Question about awareness and identity

As in self = awareness = brahman, yes? . Yes, also as ultimate self = God or Nibanna. I would class Buddhist view of Nibbana as a ultimate truth. At least this is what I have been taught. The tradition i practice traces it's lineage back to Buddha but does not affiliate with Buddhism rather as Dham...

Awareness of awareness is self realization ... please explain.
When everything falls away awareness can realize awareness, but as long as there is something for awareness to be aware of this self realization is not possible.

Howdy to you rachMiel.

Re: dissolve pain body and connect to inner body

Perhaps you may find it beneficial to explore the breath when it becomes difficult to observe bodily sensations. The breath can be an anchor for awareness and can help to develop sharp penetrative concentration which can aid in exploring the verticle axis.

Do you understand the issue I have (which I attempted to explain above) with the notion that awareness is our true identity?
It's not simply a matter of awareness but perhaps awareness becomes aware of awareness. Or conscious awareness if this is suitable. This is self realization.

Re: The Ego Is My Friend

Awareness does not diminish - it just changes form. It is difficult to find a common ground for discussion when you believe this statement to be truth. This is the crux of where our experience is different, could you share your experience with me as I am unaware of the details of your NDE? Your abo...

Re: Where is morality?

If unconsciousness isn't necessarily bad per se, then does that make all bad deeds NOT bad? They are just unconscious? Yes. Is the child who is victim of sexual assault bad? Is this same child as an adult who has been conditioned to perform these same actions bad? If death is not a big deal, then d...

Re: Where is morality?

Does it really matter if I agree with you on a definition of a word? Yes, as we are on an Eckhart Tolle site and not an Advaita site, it would be helpful for you to elaborate. I also speak with words from other traditions but I do my best to link them to Eckhart's teachings. Once again, you've igno...

Re: Where is morality?

. The fact that you still can't acknowledge/grasp this very simple point in my last post that I'm trying to get across, means that you are limiting yourself to your own belief structures. "Desire is a movement of the unconscious state." Eckhart Tolle This is the cause of birth(self creation), uncon...

Re: Where is morality?

that desire is not the same as craving, they are both wanting. This vastly contradicts your last point above, I looked the word up in the dictionary, desire is craving(wanting). I will not go any further with you, until you can explain to me how this is not so. This seems to be where our disagreeme...

Re: Where is morality?

Because you're clearly not explaining what you mean prior to this post, so how can we comprehend what you're attempting to say? I'm willing to explain, and giving a try at this. There are obviously some things I've said that challenge your belief structure. No, once again, it is not truth. It is yo...
