I am on a roll here with the questions! I have been experiencing eckharts teachings and have realised alot in how my life actually is! Although i keep hitting the obstacle of maintaining daily awareness and being in the moment. My ego seems to think that theres a possibility i will lose my mind and ...

Re: Meaning = meaningless

Thanks for the pointers they have been a great help! :D I had also found a point in the right direction from Krishnamurti: "What is important is not to ask, "What is the purpose of life, of existence?" but to clear the confusion that is within you. It is like a blind man who asks, "What is light?" I...

Meaning = meaningless

Someone asked me after reading and gaining an insite from eckhart teachings and some zen philosophies. What is left after, what is the meaning? We realise that the effort we put into our jobs or ambitions are all illusions and now feel that nothing has a meaning any more? Is the problem of finding a...

Re: Teacher being the last obstacle

Thanks for the comments, it seems that dropping the teacher as early as possible does help in building a path of self reliance/experience. Alot of spiritual books, people and places we are drawn to can also be obstacles in attaining our own paths. Ashley thanks for your input although it goes off th...

Teacher being the last obstacle

I had recently read that krishnamutri 'had an affair for 25 years' and some of the closest people that worked with him also he said that his life didn't reflect what he had to say. http://www.amazon.ca/Lives-Shadow-Krishnamurti-Radha-Rajagopal/dp/1462031323 Even if this isn't true it made me think -...

Hsin Hsin ming

Short book but good read from Seng-Ts0an : http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/7063202-hsin-hsin-ming?from_search=true Quote: “One thing, all things: move among and intermingle, without distinction. To live in this realization is to be without anxiety about non-perfection. To live in this faith is th...

Re: Staying present

Ha ha, thanks for the tips. Some great way to access presence. I guess the best technique is one that is always changing to keep the mind from using it as a habit!

Re: comparing eckhart and Krishnamurti

Key master, I kind of understand where your thoughts are heading from the last paragraph :) - Although feel that this is a complicating summery. I can understand how we can create are own experiences, but we do not have a choice in everything that happens in our daily life and what we see. What you ...

Re: comparing eckhart and Krishnamurti

Hi Key Master rachMiel is right. No all thoughts are intentionally created, i can see there is a clear divide between sitting down and thinking something and a thought that pops into your head when washing the dishes, i am talking about the latter. Eckhart mentions these thoughts as mental noise tha...

Re: comparing eckhart and Krishnamurti

Hi Key master, Thanks for the reply. What i was referring to is that everything is one and consciousness therefor the thing viewing the thoughts is the same as the thoughts! I was just contemplating the idea as i tend to get negative thoughts and feel that the best way is notice them as negative tho...

comparing eckhart and Krishnamurti

Eckhart mentions that we have a pain body which can manifest into thoughts or emotions and to view them almost and a separate energy. Krishnamutri explains the contradiction of treating a thought/feeling as almost something external because it then creates more of an attachment, similar to walking d...

Re: sick of it all!

Meditation can also become an obstacle, thinking that it can solve things and turning into a habit. It sounds like you still are very much creating an attachment to your anxiety through non acceptance. It is quite ironic how when we push are anxieties away the return quicker and more often. You have...

Re: How can I think like Eckhart tolle?

Ha, this is how eckharts teaching can be wrongly perceived - He points to the moon but you look at the hand. Take eckharts teachings and see where he is pointing, alot of lifes qualities naturally arise through living in presence.
