Re: Finding a partner

You should consider an interdependent relationship rather than a dependent. Unfortunately, I do not think you can "aim" for an interdependent relationship. If you are searching for a relationship, then you are implicitly making that future 'other' responsible for your happiness. If you do that, the...

Re: Finding a partner

Thanks Phil. When I'm reading your worlds its kinda like I know the answers anyway but needed a bit of a kick to realise them. It's a strange thing for me. I enjoy my own company immensely. I go on holidays, to the cinema, meals on my own often but I listened to one of eckhart's tapes. He said on t...

Re: Determinism Makes Me Feel Helpless

This might seem 'off topic' but it's actually speaking to the quality of our thoughts and might be helpful for Danny - about what we think, what we feel, what we hear/read/see as well. smiileyjen101 wrote: The mind does indeed help us to understand the 'feeling', the effect of our actions and thoug...

Re: Finding a partner

There are very few people I meet that I am interested in really. This is quite normal when you realize that most people live in illusions, they are like 'marionettes' or 'robots' that have been programmed or 'conditioned' by society, education, traditions, beliefs, religions etc ... they are not 'r...

Re: Finding a partner

This is kind of what confuses me really. How do you reconcile finding a partner but also being happy in the now? You can't ... if you want to be happy in the now, do not create time ... and the need to find a partner is creating time ie. a distance between 'what is' (now) and what 'should be' (futu...

Re: Finding a partner

http://www.spiritualsingles.com/index.php Not much of a reply, but that was what came to my mind. I'm going to second this one. This is the site I met my girlfriend on and I've encountered an incredible amount of open minded women on here. I've been recommending the site to countless people. I say ...

Re: Determinism Makes Me Feel Helpless

The word 'judge' has many connotations and energetic levels of expression, experience, the key of it for me is in the 'judge not lest you be judged in the same manner' - how can you not be? Intelligence and judgment cannot coexist ... intelligence means 'comprehension' or 'integration' ... while ju...

Just drop this useless thought ... and be happy now ...

Re: Determinism Makes Me Feel Helpless

The mind does indeed help us to understand the 'feeling', the effect of our actions and thoughts. Maybe, but the 'judgement' does not help us to understand, quite the opposite ... when we say something is 'bad' or 'should not be', it blocks understanding in fact ... it is a resistance to 'what is' ...

Re: Wisdom From Wikipedia

That you exist is the whole complete truth. That is reality. That you exist is the most self-evident knowledge. All else must be obtained, and so can be lost. Don't overlook that which you already know, that which you already are, in favour of a thought, a concept, imagination. Don't overlook that ...

Re: Determinism Makes Me Feel Helpless

Our intelligence enables us to judge what is good from what is harmful. Dalai Lama Well the word 'judge' is maybe not the most appropriate, 'judgement' is something 'intellectual', coming from mind (which is conditioned and might 'distort' reality) ... personally I would prefer a statement saying t...

Re: Intention, self and Self

Other contributors, including "moderators" shouldn't criticise my scientific or analytical contribution to a topic. Wow. Ash, are you serious? Please re-read your sentence a couple of times. Basically what you are saying is: "My stuff is immune to criticism ... it is gospel." Ahem....Bullshit. If y...
