Re: why you will never be enlightened

As Mooji said "Forget about enlightenment" ... "Forget about spirituality" ... "that is a trap" ... give up all those ideas, drop all and stay quiet ...

Here's the video, I recommend this one, one of the best from Mooji, in great shape ...

Re: Determinism Makes Me Feel Helpless

I'm not concerned with my own fate. In fact, I have it quite easy in comparison to the rest of the world. This reminds me about Byron Katie (an author often quoted by Eckhart Tolle) who defines three kinds of businesses: my business, your business and God's business ... so I think that she would pu...

Re: Possessed by the Ego / Pain Body, yet Being Present

How can this be? How can my ego be stronger than being present? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Tolle teaches that awareness and ego cannot coexist. This is correct, awareness and ego cannot coexist, because ego is made of thought, and when there is awareness there can be no thought ... The pr...

Re: Determinism Makes Me Feel Helpless

Is there anyone who can relate to my situation? The belief of not really being in control of my life may be a harsh truth that I'm just not willing to accept yet. Why is there a need to control your life ? ?? I'd say that the need for 'control' arises out of a lack of trust, a lack of confidence .....

Re: When To Use Thinking

When is it okay to think? I would say that the problem is not so much " when " to use thinking ... than to be aware when thought is used ... This is why Eckhart recommends not to react immediately ('hot' reaction) when there is some problem at hand, but instead take some deep breath, become aware o...

Re: How can I find peace?

I also know I wont have any children of my own, so I feel all alone. You can choose to feel all alone and attribute those reasons to doing so, you don't have to though, not having children of your own does not necessarily create the feeling of being all alone - that's an interpretation of it. Yes J...

Re: What triggers the experience of a sudden/random awakenin

Clouded, What I mean is that your parents attitude might change if they see that you are behaving more maturely and take responsibility for your life ... your father would see that you 'contribute' and your mother will see that you can be 'trusted' ... but of course it is up to you to take your own ...

Re: To think or not to think ?

Phil, You're extremely boring... and I would describe your expressed self-concept lately as almost one-dimensional, drab & dull as dishwater . Lighten up buddy.... & accept this forum has contributors expressing a multitude of viewpoints.... not just the ones you prescribe to and seemingly ch...

Re: What triggers the experience of a sudden/random awakenin

My goal is to have a part time job that allows me to become financially independent so I can move out from my toxic parent's home, and I want to resume my university studies or go back to college. I'm still confused of what I want to do in life, I just don't want to allow anxiety to dictate my life...

Re: To think or not to think ?

In the following clip, Eckhart talks about moving between no thought and thought in order to engage well with the creative process of writing. "Staying Present While Thinking" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6U-oz6Kcos4 Thanks Manyana for the link ... and the coming back to the original topic of th...

Re: To think or not to think ?

You are allowed to express your perspective the same way Ashley is allowed to express his'. The way I see it, if the forum's moderators don't mind Ashley's scientific posts then he has every right to keep posting his view. You are not the one in charge of the rules here. Did I say that Ashley had n...

Re: To think or not to think ?

What do you think is Ashley's "mission" here? To convert us all into Eckhart Tolle haters (on an Eckhart Tolle forum)? What do you think is the agenda of a forum 'troll' ? ?? Why would you care if Ashley publicly states that he doesn't agree with Eckhart's teachings? I see what I see ... and ...

Re: To think or not to think ?

And because Ashley does not agree with Eckhart AT ALL, you feel that he should not post here. Can I ask why it bothers you what Ashley posts? It does not bother me, this is an assumption you make ... I am just putting in evidence the fundamental dishonesty to post in a community forum when one has ...

Re: Intristic Actions & Motivation

I want more of that type of motivation. How do I find a way to utilize that motivation into the things that I do? Why look for a "motivation" ? Why not just 'do' things that need to be done ? Why look for a 'purpose' or an 'intention' ? Is it possible to act without looking for a result ? without a...
