Re: Books that emphasize dropping the story

Many books emphasize dropping the story. Here's a list of some I have found worth reading: Eckhart Tolle The Power of Now A New Earth Stillness Speaks Jiddu Krishnamurti Freedom from the Know Lao Tzu Tao Te Ching Bhagavad Gita Ram Dass Be Here Now Tony De Mello Awareness Hermann Hesse Siddhartha Sri...

Re: Paranoia and ego loss

Outward focus like this will send you crazy.

What if you stopped focussing on others and instead focussed entirely on what's happening inside you?

Try it for a day.

Re: When you were "normal"

Maybe there's not been a reply to your original post because your question is too broad. Is there something in particular you want to know?

Re: Is a photon the basic unit of information flow?

Look I'll wind back the level of science I put in my posts... If it brings more harmony and less opposition. Could there be a better reason? Perhaps, because this is not a science forum? "Oh but it is science - we put the science back into con-scious.... or would that be con-science. Oh bother!" My...

Re: ET and ACIM

Gary Renard, now there's a forgiveness lesson in itself. BTW, there is not one ego and the course doesn't teach that. That's a misinterpretation from Ken Wapnick that Gary repeats cause Gary doesn't have an original thought. Understanding what thought you will know that there is no such thing as an...

Re: can you get eckhart tolle to talk about social anxiety?

Social Anxiety is not special. It is just an intense fear of the unknown. And if we follow fear to its end we find it cannot exist without time - hence the power of now. So, Eckhart says be present. There you find all the answers, including answers about fear.

Re: Yoga journal article on Fear

See, for me it isn't about my identify as the speaker. I don't get anxious because I am worry that the person who the speaker is might fail. Instead, I get anxious because I think I might die from the powerful physical sensations. Seriously, they are powerful! I couldn't care less if I stuffed up d...

Re: My deepest questions

The transcendent vertical dimension of the now does not free us from living in the horizontal dimension. Actually, it does. It depends who the "us" is that you are talking about. If you are talking about the mind-made me that is made up of roles, body, family and thoughts then you are right. But th...

Re: Bursts of anger and irritation after Eckhart Tolle??

Give yourself a break if you don't catch it early. It rises fast. The good news is, if you fail to catch it as a thought, you can still catch it as an emotion in the body. So you get two chances to deal with it directly and decisively. :)/quote] Fantastic! There truly is no excuse to awareness.

If I was only interested in seeking my own advice, then there would be no thread, it would not have been posted Perfect. Try that. Don't post anything for a week. See what happens. Observe the thought that tries to get you back into asking for other people's advice. Follow that voice in your head t...

Re: Non-Duality: Conceptual vs Experiential

Well, in my view, everything comes from thought and thoughts are the action of Mind, Consciousness. A Mind would not really be functioning as a Mind if it didn't have the thinking. Mind and thought are inseparable. If everything comes from thought then what is left when we are in deep sleep? There ...

Re: Commitment (End of Suffering PT 2)

In the state of consciousness we call presence, roles are no longer created at all in the mind. Roles are non-existent. In his talks and writings ET tells us "…and then I became a spiritual teacher." In the strictly first-person, present moment by moment perspective there is no teacher. But ET is s...

Re: I am having headaches

Consider this. Turn every light on in your house, even cupboard lights and vanity lights. Plug in every appliance so that every electrical point is taken. Turn on all those appliances simultaneously. You'll no doubt short circuit the whole place. Then do the opposite. Operate on candles for light, f...

There is something a book can shine light on that people commenting on a forum might miss. It'...
