Re: Spouse is trapped in "Enlightenment Limbo"

Do you mean that there is really nothing I can do for another person? There's a lot of people that agree with Tolle on an intellectual level, but are incapable of living his truth. So for all these people, the thing we can do is just work on ourselves and the rest will follow? You got it. And I can...

Re: Staying present

I have found a few useful ways to be in the now are: - slow down whatever you are doing and pay complete attention to the object you are holding or interacting with or the steps you are taking or the person you are listening to or the .... fill in the blank. - slow down your breathing and follow eac...

Re: Thomas Campbell (MBT)

For myself he has been the most influential teacher as he is the most logical and that suits my way of thinking.
Have you ever gone beyond thinking to see if there is a deeper state of consciousness?

Re: If you need help ask me anything ?

Thanks for the offer but by reading your words I reckon I'm at least 7% more enlightened than you so I'll keep looking for someone further up the consciousness food chain thanks ;-)

Re: Spouse is trapped in "Enlightenment Limbo"

Here's the short answer: work on yourself.

By work I mean do nothing of course ;-)

Nothing = observe your thoughts and emotions + accept every one of them + enter the now from there

The rest will take care of itself.

Re: Pleasure of the ego vs enjoyment of the true 'I'

You are correct in asserting that pleasure is transitory. Maybe what you are pointing toward is not daily pleasure but daily joy. In this video Eckhart talks about joy. I don't know which part but maybe that's because you will watch the whole video and learn about more than joy vs pleasure: http://w...

Re: Eckhart Tolle TV is Expensive...

The videos I have seen from ETTV have a high production value. This does not come cheap. Not that it's a good practice, to mind someone else's business, but just say we are performing a bit of fun due diligence in order to discern for ourselves the ethical sense behind charging US$15 per month for E...

Re: Hi Guys

RIght now I prefer working in lower-paying, less stressful jobs. I want to become a good musician, and make a living that way if possible. Is any job itself stressful or is stress a byproduct of the mind? What types of jobs are considered stressful? What is it about a certain job that makes it more...

Re: Can't control mind attacks

I have a feeling that I am so compulsive a "what if-er" that I no longer know I even do it. Be encouraged by your awareness. If you are observing what is happening then you are no longer fully identified with the thought forms. And there is nothing to do other than observe, even at night. Just obse...

Re: The Frame Game

Framing is the same as separation is the same as the small "I". All are maya, or illusion. Why focus on that which is not real?

Re: Yoga journal article on Fear

All fear is irrational, except primordial fear which is more of an automated response to danger by our natural systems. Observation of thoughts and emotions has freed me of my own irrational fear of heights. Exposure could help, but only if the person is willing to observe what is happening inside t...

Re: Why does the Ego push you to suicide?

Physical death is not the end if the ego. It's just the end of that particular host. The ego is strengthened by such strong identification with negative thoughts ie. I cannot live with myself. It is a victory if anything.
