Re: Cognitive Dissonance & Morality

If we are seriously giving "believe in yourself, cause I believe in you" advice on this Eckhart Tolle forum then it's time to pause and smell the hydrangeas!

Re: What does beign free means to you?

Yep. Big ocean is nice. And when you stand at the ocean and look out there is very little you can say you know. There is the only freedom we could look for - the freedom from the known, as Krishnamurti points to. The ocean is not inhabited by man, therefore it is free of the thought structures that ...

Re: What does beign free means to you?

Feel that difference. That is the essence of this journey. It does not come through thinking about it. You can only hold onto it ever so gently. As soon as you try to grip it tightly, it disappears. (actually, it's better to say "it get's covered up by the gripping")

Re: Cognitive Dissonance & Morality

The greatest respect and regard I can offer is to tell you that I do not worry about you, I believe in you. If you can hold the same regard for your self (and others) the path will flow seamlessly wherever it will. To do this there must be two of you - the believer and the believee. Woop-woop: Spli...

Re: What does beign free means to you?

I admire krishnamurti he seems straight and funny to me (god forgive me for my labelling) We can learn a lot from our own statements. Here, you speak about Krishnamurti. It is worth noting the magnetic pull of people rather than teachings or pointers. Perhaps this will unlock something for you. Tol...

Re: What does beign free means to you?

There is a great book by Jiddu Krishnamurti that could help you in this, and many other, areas of the journey. It is called, "Freedom from the Known." It is available free online here: JKrishnamurti.org . Compared to Eckhart's writing, this book is fairly robust and deep. However, if you persevere y...

Re: How do we use Yin-Yang?

The misconception is that yin and yang represents two differences. It doesn't. That is the literal mind at work. If you look closely at the yin-yang symbol you notice some things, such as the flow of the two sides into each other. They are not two semi-circles. But there is a point where one side 'c...

Re: Who am I? I am so lost

The mind is trained to seek success. Be aware of that. Nothing more. Just be aware of it. Don't turn the success-conditioning into another thing to have success over. Just be.

Re: Is thinking always bad?

My approach is non-existent. Just feel your way through everything. There is no "approach" to feeling. It just is.

At a stretch, you could say that an approach is to ask the question, "Am I feeling my way through this?"

But that drops away as well.

Nothing.

Being free is just a mind-made concept. It doesn't exist.

Re: Suffering

I don't know if anyone can help. I feel so low and emotionally drained, I left my job last year to pursue further education and this has left me in a terrible financial situation, I had a relationship that ended in a awful way ( I was in love he I found out did not care at all. And was just a chanc...

Re: My deepest questions

One of my deepest questions is about self-confidence. The best question you can ever ask yourself is: What is the point of my question? Where does it come from inside me? In this case, what is the point of asking a question about self-confidence? Where does the question of self-confidence come from...

Havin a concept bout enlightenment is like a plumber gettin nail extensions. It just don't fit.

Self improvement has to be talkin bout the false self, cause the real self don't need improvin.

Because what you resist is you.

Re: Identity change question

Charming, funny and making people feel comfortable is a matter of perspective. I have known people who say the same about themselves, but they are actually rather annoying to be around. It comes off as arrogant when someone thinks highly of them self. In your awareness, that you have been resting in...
