Re: Farewell to the Forum

Consciousness is like an infinite diamond. It has many facets - each unique from all others. Yet in their uniqueness there is no real separation. Only a perception of individuality. Consciousness is much the same. The brain merely creates the conditions for uniqueness of perception and perspective ...

Re: Free Will

The me that I think I am didn't really make the decision to take a walk.. The me that I think I am is just a thought. Whereas I think what I really am is the totality and the flow of life including that thought and so called choice. So to cut a long story short I have to say there is no free will b...

I think it is probably beneficial to progress at a slow steady pace, as it prevents things like a Messiah complex from developing.

Re: A Satsang with Jac O'Keefe

I say, if you have a family member, then love them fully and embrace the life you have with them. We don't live in an 'absolute blotch of white' where feelings and emotions are non-existent. We fully live WITH feelings and emotions because we are human beings. We are expressions of the very thing w...

Here is the Secret of the Fox (from the Little Prince): http://www.angelfire.com/hi/littleprince/framechapter21.html "And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye." Hi Phil2, thanks for that, I enjoyed...

Re: Someone help me please...

I think you're experiencing the paradox that a lot of people have expressed confusion about on this forum: being in the moment can feel like a detachment from life. You talk about not feeling enthusiastic when you get up in the morning; when I awaken with enthusiasm usually that means I'm looking f...

Re: Daily practice

As far as remaining in deep presence 24/7 I love this quote from Krishnamurti: Don't be aware all the time! Just be aware in little bits. Please, there is no being aware all the time, that is a dreadful idea! It is a nightmare, this terrible desire for continuity. Just be aware for one minute, for ...

Hi phasor, that number of seconds is good, instead of trying to increase the length of time spent, increase instead the amount of times that you go into the now.

Re: Imagination and being in the Now

I agree and have long advocated that posters speak from personal experience and have tried to do so myself. I have never gotten the luminous, thought free, spacious now you and others seem to refer to.....so you are probably right, I miss the essence. I admit, at one time I pretended I had this und...

Hi olivetree, I think it is only really an issue if you feel trapped in the imagination. Although for me, it was an important phase to be trapped in there for a while.

Re: Why Do You Listen to People Who Say They Don't Know?

I'm no longer going to participate in this back and forth "discussion" that could probably be endless. It's a time suck and for me it takes away time that I think I could use in more productive ways. Hi Eric, I thought this was a wonderful example of someone stepping out of a reactive pattern - goo...

Hi Sirius, I found it difficult at first to differentiate between pain body and ego, but I would say what you say here is pain body..... it's like a very fast mass of viciousness. I don't really notice any gaps in the same way I can't really pinpoint when the thought is occurring. I'm not sure how I...

I find this quality endearing in a person. It makes me feel like I can relax and be myself. Also, maybe the thankyou was because you actually did feel grateful to have such a nice encounter.
