Re: Thoughts about truthcontest.com

What about Tolle making some statements about the "afterlife"? He also makes these same kinds of statements He does, but rarely and cautiously. I can sense the humility when ET speaks/writes. When I read the pages on truthcontest.com, humility seems to take a back seat. I have quite bit of Tolle's ...

Re: Is it really an illusion

Often times this arises out of spiritual bypassing in the guise of enlightenment

Re: Osho

Interesting, beginnersmind. It strikes me, in this moment, that too much mediation takes us away from the moving meditation of life. Although meditation could be life as well, of course. Guess it's just where my head is right now. Short sessions of simple mindfullness meditation do it for me at thi...

Re: Osho

Even TM meditation where you're simply taught a chant can run you thousands of dollars, and that foundation claims it just wants to help people. Right. That's one of my beefs with the TM organization. When I learned TM in 1973 it cost $35, which I felt was quite reasonable. Now, however, the whole ...

Re: Osho

I don't begrudge someone making a living, even people in spirituality. What I do take issue with, is the outrageous fees that are charged by some of these so called "spiritual leaders" for them to bestow their wisdom on the masses. Western spirituality seems to quickly becoming a hobby for the finan...

Re: Osho

Yes, beginnersmind, this is close to what I'm saying....I think the commodity element is huge. Nothing (no one) will bring us salvation, only because we don't need to be saved! The other element with Stephen Gray, I like the way you uncloaked him, is that he is essentially sitting in a throne! Who ...

Re: Osho

IMO, spirituality is about sinking one's teeth into life. . Great, then I'm doing just fine then... It is like the old Zen saying, "First there are mountains and rivers. Then there are no mountains and rivers. Then there are mountains and rivers." Of course paraphrased. Ack, wanted to get aw...

Re: Osho

Sorry to keep budding in here, but I took interest in the conversation. I think you're making a lot more here out of what Onceler said than what there is. Just because someone does not want to put a teacher or teaching on a pedestal and follow or join a particular group, does not mean someone has a...

Re: Osho

By the way, it sure is quiet around here.… What gives? I personally have been sinking my teeth into life, instead of spending time here. Pretty much been spending time with family, getting caught up with friends and doing whatever the heck I want really and not thinking too much about spirituality....

Re: Osho

Here is an article on him as both Osho and Rajneesh http://www.enlightened-spirituality.org/rajneesh.html I had a book by him and personally I didn't find him all that insightful. This was before I read this article. I've thrown the book away since then. For me, when it comes to a spiritual teacher,...

My advice, don't seek it, because you'll just end up chasing the conceptual idea that you have built up in your mind, which in turn you'll never find.
