Re: How can I detach from anger when I hate anxiety/depressi

I don't know if this is solely my experience, but to me, those 3 emotions you mention are almost not distinguishable from one another. In other words, when I experience one, I often experience the other two as well. Or, perhaps, it might start out as anger coupled with anxiety, then quickly morph in...

Re: My verdict on this whole thing

That is a great story, Dij :) Thanks for sharing.

Yes, of course, no person is always a piece of shit or always nice. They change. I just meant that not everyone deserves unconditional love/respect.

My verdict on this whole thing

When my exposure to Eckhart's teachings began, a couple of years ago, I was, of course, ecstatic to realize that I wasn't the colossal fuckup I thought I was. Seduced by that profound initial realization, my journey proceeded with an emphasis on reading and listening, without much practical applicat...

Re: A Chuckle A Day Keeps The Doctor Away

You're a mutt :P Well, yes...yes I am. I've used that term myself. When asked, I tell people I'm 51% Indian and the other 49% Indian. Do you ever stump anyone with that? Lol I'm sorry if this is awkward, but I wanna run up to you, give you a big tight hug, and a gentle peck on your cheek

Re: A Chuckle A Day Keeps The Doctor Away

I believe that Dutch is the connecting link between German and English. Hmm, my background (so I'm told) is German, dutch, English and the odd ball one...native american. Which PB guessed by my photo...lol. My last name was Keck, which I do believe is German. No point to this posts..just thought I'...

Re: A Chuckle A Day Keeps The Doctor Away

Frozen Windows One cold winter’s morning a wife at home texted her husband in the office: ‘Windows frozen, won’t open.’ The husband replied: ‘Gently pour some lukewarm water over it.’ Five minutes later the wife texted back: ‘Computer now really screwed up. What shall I do?’ * * * The husband repli...

Re: Goodbye ... or something like it

Thanks Dij and Steve. Yes, I'm back in California, but again, the Earth is about to shake violently, and it's just a matter of time before I have to leave again. This next time will be a one-way trip, however. I've already started developing an "evacuation plan", and am going to leave naught to chan...

Ok, tip of the day, scope out where places are that are open 24 hrs/day for shelter during storms (train stations, airport, casinos, grocery stores/walmart, ect).
Thanks, Dijjy :)

Re: Goodbye ... or something like it

Wow PB, thanks a lot for the update. Glad you are finding some peace there, in this new location. It reminds me of several movies i have seen where people got away from it all and just walked or hung out in nature to find themselves. May you continue to find peace there and what you are seeking. p....

Re: Goodbye ... or something like it

Ok, so, now that I have internet access (though, not a lot of energy), here's an update: I only remained in Portland for one day/night. I decided that I'm not going to sleep in a homeless shelter, because I don't want my stuff stolen and I don't want to get stabbed in the middle of the night. I slep...

Re: Goodbye ... or something like it

Steve - Thanks, friend. Asking for my parents' help is not straightforward in my case. I'm leaving that as a last resort. You're absolutely right - being homeless is not easy and is not for all of us ... and I have discovered just that this past week. I'm hanging in there for now. Will have to wait ...

Re: Goodbye ... or something like it

Did you find the homeless shelter? Hey, no, I chose not to seek one because I don't want my stuff stolen. I slept on a school bench for a few hours, before being asked to move by a cop. I decided that that was not going to last. I hitchhiked out of Portland the following morning. (Sent you a PM, too)

Re: Goodbye ... or something like it

Glad you made it there in one piece! Free WiFi is always good! :) Do you know who Neale Donald Walsch is? He's the author of the "conversations with god" series of books. Anyways, he was homeless in Ashland, Oregon prior/during "receiving" the download of the first book. In ashland, there is/was a ...
