Re: Ultimate Destruction

Who is it that gets hurt? Who is it that has these bad things happen? Sounds like living through the lens a false self. Try listening to your thoughts, can that really be 'you'?

Re: Deal with Anger

Well said Webwanderer.

Who is it that that holds this anger energy? Who is it that needs to express it? Observe this energy more closely, become intimate with it, eat it and understand it. Heavy emotions suffocate from our attention.

Re: Adrenaline pumping

Hello Rob and welcome to the forums.

Could you explain your experience further? Has this happened since finding more presence or could these incidents be related to thoughts? If not, perhaps this could be talked about with a medical professional.

Hope you enjoy it though

Re: Identity is Gone, is This Common?

That's right. Everything arises out of consciousness, is witnessed by consciousness and dissolves into consciousness. This is called "Lila - the play of consciousness". In other words, all is consciousness. That sounds very poetic, thank you. A few updates from what I've observed: It seems identifi...

Re: trapped by addiction

Yes, accept this. Realize that the compulsive watching of pornography isn't happening to 'anyone', so accept that it is happening with no identity attached to it. Don't just observe, realize that even the observer isn't really 'you', there is no you. There is only a body and mind that engages in com...

Re: Identity is Gone, is This Common?

Don't worry, it will. Also, I wouldn't think in terms of "killing" the ego; doing that implies it is an enemy to be eliminated, and that can create an adversarial relationship with it. Instead, think of it as a fraud or a trickster to be seen through as a temporary illusion... Thanks again for the ...

Re: Identity is Gone, is This Common?

Some good news, the ego came back. So consciousness had gotten the opportunity of killing it again. I can describe the process again with more detail now. After an eventful day, awareness became lost in the external world of form and identity. It had forgotten itself. The biggest sign was a negative...

Re: How to deal with past pain body

It is your thoughts and mind that are feeling threatened, but you are not your thoughts or mind. Your truest 'self' doesn't exist and it cannot be named, it is falsely identifying with what it sees. Maybe sit still and try to notice these thoughts coming and going. If they appear and reappear, how c...

Re: Identity is Gone, is This Common?

I would say your awakening is more atypical than most people’s. Usually it is more gradual. Sudden awakenings can be quite disorienting if you don’t have any idea of what’s going on... Interesting that you say that, for I first came into contact with Eckhart's teaching almost a decade ago, and it a...

Re: Only 80% thoughts gone after enlightenment?

The ego that I identified with appears to be gone, perhaps I can share some observations since its dissolving. Thoughts still arise, and the intensity of the mind still remains when engaged with the world. The difference is that there is no weight or seriousness attached to thoughts. It's as if watc...

Re: Identity is Gone, is This Common?

Thanks for the warm welcome, Kiki. I'm glad you enjoyed reading that. Happy to hear more people are realizing the illusion of identity, I'd love to share and hear about other's experiences. Fascinating, in the couple of face to face interactions I've had, there was still no sense of an identity. Wor...

Identity is Gone, is This Common?

Hello, Today I was noticing the usual existential thoughts and so I realized either this body will have to die or the identity with my thoughts will have to die. I love this life, so I chose to end the 'ego'. And then it was gone. My awareness is deeply rooted in all the life and beauty found in eve...
