Re: How do you coexist with the Ego while not being identifi

I think it can be hard for me to disidentify with thoughts and ideas about Spacetime. In the Ego consciousness, it seems like it is ultimately the reality. It seems like it is impossible to imagine anything not bound by spacetime. For me, its easy to imagine other alternatives, like different laws o...

Re: How do you coexist with the Ego while not being identifi

I think it may have been Meister Eckhart who stated much of Spirituality is about unlearning. Frankly I could not agree more. It seems like we can too easily get stuck in needing to label, explain, or analyze everything to death. This reminded me of an episode of the Twilight Zone known as "Little G...

What is enlightenment like? or what is it not?

I have been thinking it maybe better to ask about enlightenment in relation to what it is not. It seems like the mind wants to define enlightenment as either A) A higher level of knowledge, or B) Nothingness. Yet these seem to be mere mental constructs.

Re: How do you coexist with the Ego while not being identifi

The ego is a judgement machine that lives by making comparisons ...but of itself it has no life. Everyone is ultimately divine creations of Source. Forgiveness is to see past or overlook this dense ego covering or shrouding of the pure light that exists in everything and in others. Thus to see it i...

Re: How do you coexist with the Ego while not being identifi

Thanks, Jack, for the encouragement. :-) I derive so much pleasure from the worlds of thought and form that it often prevents me from experiencing the joy of pure being. (For me, the latter can only happen, directly at least, when the everyday pleasure-driven mind is quiet.) I don't want to give up...

How do you coexist with the Ego while not being identified

I find that trying to be egoless just creates an ego itself, something like a Sadhu, or a monastic. Plus, sensual experience, thoughts, memories/time and emotions are part of our consciousness, in my opinion. However, I think its also just as unconscious to obsess and identify with Egolessness. But ...

Re: Is it normal to feel unconscious during an ego death

It seems like you try to understand everything by using your mind. Your true self, our true self is beyond anything we can imagine. Death of the ego is the birth of your actual self, but what you think as the death of an ego might also be something else. I also have had some suspicions about those ...

Is it normal to feel unconscious during an ego death

I have noticed a sense of being stuck in a lack of consciousness, where it seems like there is no reality outside of what can be intellectually grasped. This is not the first time this has happened. This happened three times before, due to being stuck at a level of unconsciousness, with each time ha...

Creepy experiences resembling death

I dont know if its just coincidences, but I have been having some creepy experiences that resemble death. 1) I have seen 5 parked ambulances over the course of 6 weeks, 2) In church 2 songs were about death, 3) I had some jellybeans(bean-boozled) that had flavors that tasted like death, and haunted ...

The Ego and Fear of Death

I could not help but wonder if in modern Western Culture, the fear of Death is grounded in Egoism. I think that our current medical system is a testimony that has a death denying and death defying attitude. Yet, in reality, I have not been overly impressed with the results of modern medicine, as com...

Why does conformity make people seem so fake?

I dont know if its just me, but conformity is a major turnoff for me. This includes things like groupthink, following popular trends, uniformity, lack of diversity, or giving duty higher priority than happiness. Yet people who are not concerned about conformity interest me more. I cannot help but th...

Conscious relationships and socialization

Basically how to remain conscious when relating to others? To be honest, I have a hard time relating to people who show any traits of the collective ego, such as excessive conformity, groupthink, or expressive disapproval(Such as constant criticism and lecturing, or treating others like outsiders). ...

What is Conscious Maturity?

Frankly what is considered maturity shares more traits of the collective ego, while the individual ego is seen as immature. So basically what I often see purported as maturity is a kind of pseudo-selflessness. Basically I have noticed this means 1) Minding to everyone elses business except your own,...

Why do I hate Fire and brimstone preaching so much?

I really just cannot stand people preaching hellfire, divine vengeance, or making judgments on people different from their way. Like someone preaching that gays(in their terms sodomites), those of different religions, or some other matter saying they are going to hell. I have noticed this with Funda...

How can I be free of ego in social challenges

I find that when it comes to friendships, family, or other types of relationships, it can be tempting for me to revert to egoism when there is a challenge especially with those I am close with. This can cover situations where someone close goes through a personality change that makes them be disappr...
