Re: What is Love?
Misery is a choice. A Broken Heart is not a choice ... Well said, Sandy. Everyone wants to feel the fullness of a life really lived. The difference is in the strategy. Whatever the approach, the objective is essentially the same -- to satisfy a longing for wholeness. We can chase many rainbows befo...

Re: Poetry: The language of the Divine
Before you know what kindess really is you must lose things . Naomi Shihab Nye finds freedom in sorrow as her heart breaks open wide to her own pain and to the pain and sorrow of everyone. While she doesn't forge an identity out of sorrow, she graciously receives it as a facet of her being, and the...

Re: The Obsession with Wealth Creation
Once you see the powerlessness of fear, you will become all that you are meant to be and that includes wealth in all ways. Yes, that seems to echo the LoA principle that whatever we focus on we get more of. If I am following correctly, the universe does not understand NO. So as we say we don't want...

Hahaha! Very intriguing, Sandy.
Perhaps you will say more later...

Re: The Obsession with Wealth Creation
Yes, there are those who seem to know the price of everything and the value of nothing, as the old saying goes. wealth and money are two very different things that bear no necessary realationship Well-said. Brings to mind a speech given by Robert Kennedy in 1968: ” … the gross national product does ...

Risk
And then the day came,
when the risk
to remain tight
in a bud
was more painful
than the risk
it took
to Blossom.

Re: My issues with sex and lust
...nice to know that people care about you and want to help you. Yes, sweetheart. People here care about you and want to help you. But you need to care about you and want to help you! As Jen pointed out, it may take "courage and conviction" to make that call to get help, but if you are going to sta...

Re: My issues with sex and lust
Peas, it is not the advice or the passage in the book that you offered that is dangerous. I know you are trying to point Clouded to some helpful ideas. But turning to a book at this juncture does not approach matters with the immediacy called for. Sooner, rather than later, my hope is that Clouded w...

Re: Poetry: The language of the Divine
Woods I wish to grow dumber, to slip deep into woods that grow blinder with each step I take, until the fingers let go of their numbers and the hands are finally ignorant as paws. Unable to count the petals, I will not know who loves me, who loves me not. Nothing to remember, nothing to forgive, I w...

Re: My issues with sex and lust
I know Peas means well...but I respectfully disagree. I don't think you sound very balanced in your reply. I do think you sound reactive, Clouded. I don't mean that as harsh criticism, only as an observation...and I assume that since you are posting about this on a public forum, that you are open to...

Re: My issues with sex and lust
A public phone sounds like a great idea. I never see those around anymore where I live...but if you know where to find one close by, great! No, you wouldn't need to disclose that you were in need of phoning a "sexual assault" hotline. Maybe you could say, "I am in a scary situation and I need help. ...

Re: My issues with sex and lust
You are welcome! I do not believe a toll free number would show up on a bill...and these places are very, very mindful of protecting client privacy. Could you borrow someone's cell phone? Go to a library and tell the person at the front desk that you need to call a hotline and need to use the phone....

Re: My issues with sex and lust
Clouded, there are free hotlines you can call. Here is one: The National Sexual Assault Hotline: 1.800.656.HOPE They will refer you to a place in your area that can assist you further. They will listen, they are experienced with situations like yours, and they know what options are out there. Sorry ...

Re: Hologram World
Thank you for your affirming words, Kathleen. Glad you found something of value in what I shared. Yes, we are never "stuck!" And we are never "done!" And at the risk of sounding "defensive"... rather than "calculating," perhaps we can be intentional, purposeful, deliberate, and in doing so, are no l...

Re: Hologram World
Some days I'm a gentle ripple and other days I'm a crashing wave of fury. Yes. As are we all! And we never need be defined by either. And we can intentionally swim out of one and into the other. I have tested over and again as an INFP on the Myers Brigg. I always score very high on the "I," --- one...
