The Direct Path

Post by rachMiel » Wed Aug 29, 2018 3:51 pm

Are there any Direct Pathies in the house? Readers of Sri Atmananda, Greg Goode, Rupert Spira, Jean Klein, Francis Lucille?

I'm drawn to Direct Path teachings because of their ... directness. ;-)

They don't beat around the spiritual bush, they go straight for the heart of the matter: awareness/consciousness.

With a forum name like turiya, I'm not surprised!

Have you studied traditional Advaita too?

I feel it's a good foundation for Direct Path'ing, which without solid grounding in nonduality/awareness teachings can be very difficult, I think.

Which of the Direct Path teachers resonate strongly with you? I'm a big Spira fan, though I find all of the ones I mentioned very good. :-)

No, I haven't. I've only watched a lot of Rupert Spira videos (along with Mooji and Eckhart videos  ).

I haven't read anything by Sri Atmananda, Greg Goode, Jean Klein, or Francis Lucille. Do you recommend any
books in particular?

Standing as Awareness, Greg Goode is solid. The Direct Path also, especially if you like guided exercises to develop your awareness.

I like direct path teachings very much, though I feel you have to be "ripe" for them. Complete novices to the awakening "journey" may require a more indirect method.

I agree. Which is why I'm slogging through traditional Advaita, to stabilize the ground.
