Same as anywhere else I suppose, addiction to thought.

Maybe because most energy at a job is focused on results rather than the "doings" of what needs to be done? I noticed everyone doing that when I first went into the service (my first real job I suppose). So, I did the same. I was able to "manipulate" things to get the results that I thought I wanted a lot of the time. I thought that was how life was supposed to be lived. I continued on into the civilian working world with the same "mindset". When working towards "results" instead of just "being" I became very anxious and nervous. Since I was focused on results and beginning to not realize them and was anxious, I became a jerk to others without realizing it. I think that's how I would explain it. All the best.
