This may plainly show the validity of both viewpoints.

yes, yes...

Imagine a violin player, or anyone within an orchestra for that matter. He's the principal violinist awaiting the cue from the conductor that the symphony is about to begin. Hopefully, the musician is poised, focused, centered, and breathing deep. This musician KNOWS that the symphony has 4 movements within it that will cover ALOT of territory, not only on his instrument, but emotionally as well.It has a beginning, a middle, and an end. He CAN'T be thinking..."HOT DAMN...68 bars from now comes one of the most difficult passages that I'VE EVER HAD to play..!!!!" No...he's poised, IN THE MOMENT, in the ONLY place that the WHOLE orchestra CAN BE...which is here and NOW. Nor can he smugly think..."ha!! those first 24 bars were a breeze...." To do that could cause him to miss his place within the framework of the symphony. The conductor as well as the musicians MUST be focused on what they are doing...NOW.Attention to this one and only moment enhances the chances of a more unified experience for the musicians as well as the audience. Neither the orchestra nor the audience can be in a heated rush to get to the end of the symphony and thereby miss all the beauty of it along the way. YAY!!!!!!!!!! the fastest player wins!! and the music is destroyed.

So begins....THE DISEMPOWERMENT OF THE OBVIOUS.

It's a FUTILE doctrine....Abdicating responsibility to the "holographic" nature of the mind. A mind capable of being absolutely concentrated on its part within the symphony, and being conscious of the "whole" (time based). Big deal....
I've played note perfect passages AND carried on an argument in my mind with an ex girlfriend at the same time. Big deal...

How about some more trinkets Oprah!!! Yeah! something NEW!!!!

It's Eckhart's "teachings" that contribute to the split mind. HE espouses the "little me" story...the little me with its wants, needs, fears, and insecurites. As if those things are any LESS of an invivtation to...WHAT IS.

But, as Oprah is WELL aware...SIZE MATTERS!!!! we must escape the "little me" in favour of the all embracing, non compromising, BIG ME!!!!

It's more of the same....more of the fractured and splintered higher self/lower self nonsense.

Because the instrument has become an extension of the organism you have apparently become.
When you were learning how it was probably much more difficult, if not impossible, to do both at once.

Everyone is free to extract what they wish from the "raw materials" under their nose.
To my particularly conditioned sensibilities Fifi is a beloved and cherished pet.
In China she's a mouth-watering canine canape.

and your point is? the very raw materials which comprise the meaningless molecular dance are NOT under my control. We "submit" to them. I'm breathing. The earth revolves around the sun, the time is now. I'm breathing. speaking of raw materials.....I'm breathing, the time is now....just repeating the obvious...AD NAUSEUM.

hmmm, raw materials and evolution. regarding evolution, most of the ammunition went to proving that man was descended from ape-like progenitors, but so what? Granted that man has an animal body this does not mean he belongs to the same kingdom, any more than the cellular constitution of animals means that they are vegetables, or the MOLECULAR constitution of plants means that they are molecules. I'm breathing.

Saying "YES" to cancer is NOT a cure... you are not saying yes to "dying" of cancer. there's the difference.

I'll consider that sgt.!! Should I just sit idly in front of the TV that I don't even own and just BE present. You act is if "presence" is a choice that you're making. Why don't you hold your monitor more than reading it?

In light of Tolle's NON-TEACHING your suggestion has already invalidated itself, as you make a suggestion to do something other that what I'm doing. You're opposing the "DIVINE SUCHNESS OF WHAT IS" again...and again...and again.

Although, most petty tyrants and petty authors of non-teaching teaching would appreciate your suggesation.

"comrade, dear comrade...you think too much, why not just be present.....and subsist upon 1 bowl of soup per day, STOP resisting.... and SUBMIT...SUBMIT...SUBMIT!?!.....because if DON'T....YOU WILL SUFFER..."
