Chat Room

Post by spatialbean » Tue Feb 07, 2006 6:05 am

Would anyone be interested in participating in a chat room? I would be happy to create one on Yahoo. We could have scheduled or unscheduled chat. I used to participate in one associated with the "Conversations with God" forum and I made great friends there and had lots of fun chatting with like minded people.

Let me know!

Thanks,

Claudia

I don't know the Conversations with God address anymore, since yahoo changed their formats on groups. This was prior to the change and I had dropped out of the group by then. I think there is still a very large forum on Yahoo for CWG tho, and they may still chat. You would have to check the yahoo groups main page and search the listings for a large group of CWG people. I hope you find it, it was great at the time!

Love,
Claudia

Ok this is the continuing chat room experiment!

If you want to use the chat room, please use the PM feature and give me your email address so I can send you an invitation. Once you sign in there, you can go in anytime.

If you want to chat and no one is there, put up a message in this thread saying you are in there and I hope someone will join you.

The more the merrier so I hope this works and everyone has some fun and some good talks happen.

Love,
Claudia

I've sent out the second round of invitations to those who requested them. I'm doing it according to yahoo's instructions so I don't know why they aren't going out, unless they are landing in your "possible spam" folders. If this doesn't work there are other options I can do.

Had a lovely chat with Golfer and those of you who haven't joined missed it.

Nyah nyah.

Hi Spatialbean,
If I sign in, will I get on all sorts of mailing lists?

I always stay away from Yahoo, E-Bay type sites because I don't want my computer to get full of spam and junk mail.

I hope that I am just being overly cautious, and that you have found no problems logging in to these types of chatrooms. What has been your experience when you give them your e-mail address?

I can't answer for sure, but I haven't noticed and increase in spam from using Yahoo products.

The chat room had the option of making poster's (if the forum gets used) email addresses public or private, I chose private. Plus the chat room its self is private, so nobody messing around on the computer can stumble on it accidentally, well, except those that stumble in here and stumble on my above post with the address!

All I can say is to go thru the process of signing up if you want and see if anything along the way makes you uncomfortable, you can stop there. Plus each step of the way making a yahoo profile you can choose privacy options.

A lot of words from me to say "I don't know!!" :(

Oh, also, you can create a dummy email account thru yahoo and just use that address to sign up, that way any spam that could be created would just go into that dummy account, not your real email account that you want to keep clean.

Aha! Now there is a plan, Spatialbean.

I got a new computer and am really enjoying that when I receive my mail, it is all personal. I am not sure how I got on so many mailing lists with my old computer. So now I ask before I sign up anywhere.
