Is there purpose?

Post by Juno » Fri Feb 13, 2009 8:00 pm

Isn't purpose mind projected future?

This is tough so I wanted some input from the forum.
by thinking of something you create an entity and by thinking of nothing you create another. Let such erroneous thinking perish utterly, and then nothing will remain for you to go seeking!

could the answer depend on whether your mind is thinking about purpose, inner or outer, or it has revealed itself to you?

ET's book says awakening to your life's purpose. In this mind projected world there's purpose. Isness no purpose.

Monica...it seems that using the term "awakening" suggests that purpose (outer) may be revealed as we discover the Treasure of Our Oneness (inner)...
if not then oh well...what is Is... :)

I agree with you Doug.
I thought it was a fun question. What I came to is the Ramana quote "The world is illusion. Brahman alone is real. The world is Brahman" That's such a good quote. It saves me so many times.

When you get to reality as it is paradoxes are always there and for good reason.

I don't see it that way. Although the mind can generate any number of purposes in desire for future manifestation, there is a more fundamental purpose in living a physical manifestation or life would be entirely random. If there is design, then it follows there is purpose.

I see what you are saying WW. A different way of looking at purpose. Purpose not for future, purpose by design. Like the quote I leaned on "Brahman is the world" by design. That works for me. Thanks for your post.

CCBCPA...My (our) inner purpose is to realize Being as the one true self...The only place and time that this can ever occur is in the here and now.

Hi CC

We are the Now, so to realize that would be the ultimate purpose "by design" is the way I experience it.
