Guys just a relisation I got which will help newbies with the whole transformation to your true self. When people 1st read eckhart some might get the relisation that thoughts are poisonous and not good for them since they come from the ego but this is not entirely true. The thing that you should really be careful of is the thought after the thought which is the ego 'trying' to control. Don't put too much effort in not thinking else it will be the ego attacking from a backdoor. Just let thoughts be and say yes to them, using no effort at all. Once you start putting no effort to your thoughts eventually your natural state comes into play and overpowers the ego and the volume will be turned down on your mind.

So to simplify its not your thoughts that are of the ego but the thoughts that feed the primary thought that are, just stop controlling everything and say yes to all.

Like Tyler Durdan says, "Let the chips fall where they may!" :D

Hope this is helpful to all you NOWbies :)

You make some good points monmonn.

My take: Ego is not thought. It is a perspective of awareness that is an identification with a structure of thought. Ego is a concept of specified identity constructed of beliefs about the nature of life and self.
